Anna E. (Reidenauer) Weller, 100, formerly of Bechtelsville

Anna E. (Reidenauer) Weller, 100 years old, formerly of Bechtelsville, passed away January 3, 2013. She resided at Kutztown Manor since October 2009.

Anna was the widow of Carl W. Weller, who passed away on July 16, 1972. Born July 14, 1912, in Bechtelsville, she was the daughter of the late Sarah (Eshbach) and Harrison Reidenauer. She was confirmed in Hill Church, Bechtelsville.

As a young student, she rode the train from Bechtelsville to Boyertown to attend high school. She was the last surviving member of Boyertown High School class of 1930.

After her marriage in 1931, she lived in Bechtelsville, Bally and Boyertown. She retired in 1974 from Great American Knitting Mills. She traveled throughout the United States over her lifetime — Maine to Florida, California, Hawaii and Colorado, as well as other states.

She was a member of various local organizations including Bechtelsville Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary, New Berlinville Fire Co. Women’s Auxiliary, Golden Age, Boyertown Senior Center and Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and was seamstress to many of her family members. It was an honor to receive one of her quilts, especially as a gift at graduation, wedding or the birth of a new baby. We are very lucky to have many of these to treasure. Our “Mammy” was also an excellent baker and her lemon sponge was a favorite!

Anna is survived by her four daughters, Sara R., wife of Fernley Wagner, of Flying Hills, Ellen R., widow of Linfred Renninger, of Congo, Grace R., wife of Ronald Gruber, Estes Park, Colo., and Ruth R., wife of Martin Weiser, of Bechtelsville; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-greatgrandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, sister Erma Moyer and brother Norman.

Services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1749 S. Main St., Bechtelsville, PA 19505, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Friends may call at church Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Hill Church Cemetery.
