Evelyn Marie Atkins of Collegeville

Evelyn Marie (Zern) Atkins of Collegeville died Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Sanatoga Center. Mrs. Atkins was born on September 29, 1936, in Phoenixville, a daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Landis) Zern. She was 76 years of age.

Mrs. Atkins worked for the Methacton School District for many years, first in the cafeteria and later as a custodian. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, roller skating, sewing and traveling.

Mrs. Atkins was the widow of Robert N. “Newt” Atkins, who died in 1993. She was the mother of Kathleen Atkins of Eagleville, Robert Atkins (Susan) of Boyertown, Kimberly Shade (Barry) of Skippack, and Sharon Pierson (Andrew) of Boy- ertown. Also surviving are two grandchildren; her sister, Ida Ystesund; and her brother, Elmer Zern.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Pauline, Marion, Sarah, Harold, and John.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, January 9, at 11 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Chapel of the Limerick Garden of Memories, 44 Swamp Pike, Limerick. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Mioni. Friends may call at the Chapel from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
