Because of all the delays across the river with Keim Street, the entrance to Route 422 and the Linfield-Trappe bridge and now the ramps to the same bridge, this gives less and less access to people that need emergency care from or to the hospital. I realize that a lot of the bridges have been in disrepair for many years so because of that why do we have to close them all the same year? It’s very frustrating and very time consuming when you drive for a living.

In regards to the person who commented about Bridged Out, I live near the Keim Street bridge. When are we gonna get that one fixed? Everybody else is getting theirs fixed. When do we get the Keim Street bridge back? What is the hold up?

This is for the person who said that obviously teachers don’t love their students because they go on strike and that you are living on a $20-amonth increase. You don’t know what a teacher goes through in a day. Until you are screamed at in the face because a child is not getting there own way please don’t tell me that teachers are overpaid. You can’t just tell the students off because you would lose your job. You should live in a teacher’s shoes for just one day and see.

I just want to give Ed Clark a big thank you for the wonderful Memorial Day service that we had in the park this year. It was truly memorable, had some different things in from other years and it was truly enjoyed and a big credit to our veterans. Thank you.

The liberal left wants to ban guns for American Citizens. They also want to legalize drugs like marijuana for free sale in the American public. What they tend to overlook is where there are drugs there are guns. That makes sense.

This is for the Pottsgrove School Board, the teachers and administration. Since you are all concerned about the education of these students, I think that’s the biggest thing we need to educate the students properly, why doesn’t the teachers’ contract end to coincide with the end of the school year? They wait till July, August, September to have the new contract but when they go out on strike it affects the kids. Have the contract expire at the end of the school year.

Di-Bello from the Spring Ford School Board has been known to say “it’s all about the money.” Well it’s all about the money for us taxpayers too. We don’t have any more. Where do

you want us to get it?

I saw on the news the other morning a little boy from Pottstown, Antonio Guillardo, called 911 when he spotted a fire and I’d just like to say congratulations and your parents must be really proud of you because they raised a good boy.

This is about the person who left the comment in Wednesday’s paper about doing 70 in a 55 mph zone and wanting to know where the police were. Let me see, does that make you any better than the rest of them? I think not.

Big John, North Coventry

I’d like to congratulate the police force and the drug task force, Capt. Drumheller and everybody else involved for cleaning up the gang war crime in Pottstown. I feel a lot better that they’re on top of everything to make Pottstown safer. Again, congratulations for all the teamwork to help clean up Pottstown and make us feel safe.

A Pottstown Resident

This is in response to the person who commented about seeing people sign other people’s names at the social clubs. This has been going on for years and nobody seems to care.

In regards to our freedom in this country, we do not have it anymore. You need to seat belt yourself in a car. You don’t have to wear a helmet and now New Jersey wants to make you not smoke when you have children in the car. I don’t get it. It’s not right. We do not have any kind of freedom or decisions anymore.

I see where the TSA recently had tests and they had a 95 percent failure rate. Wow, that’s almost as good as the Obama Administration.

The new restaurant on North Charlotte Street across from the beer distributor, Opa Vera, we had dinner there over the weekend. It was the best dinner, nice menu so be sure to try it and we’re hoping that the people make a success of it.

George F. Will’s most recent commentary in The Mercury is a startling reality of what is wrong with America.
