Come grow with us at West-Mont Christian Academy

- By Christie Werkheiser

West-Mont Christian Academy is a well-known private school in the tricounty area, offering a relevant and rigorous Christian, K-12 curriculum for over 35 years. Something that West-Mont has become known for is our strong focus on sincere faith, stellar academics, relationship building and a deep desire to connect to the community through service. Over the past 35 years of operation, surely times have changed in our country and the world, so West-Mont is digging deep to help equip our school family and community to grow with these changes. Ever the innovators, we seek to find the best ways to meet the needs of our students in an ever-changing culture, while steadfastly anchoring ourselves to the truth of God’s word and how God’s purpose affects our students. Our graduates can be found all over the world, serving and working in various capacities including industry, missions, communication, military, education, ambassadorships and much more. The hallmark of West-Mont’s focus is the desire to recognize that every student is unique and must be educated accordingly. With that being said, we have implemented some exciting plans for next school year that will help all of us become more informed about the challenges that our youth culture currently faces. To this end, West-Mont has made the purposeful decision to offer training opportunities for our school family and the community at large. Coming this year, we will offer the following sessions which we are calling “Walk-In Wisdom,” brought to us by Walt Mueller, a nationally known author and speaker, from the Center for Parenting and Youth Understanding (http://www.cpyu.org/about/) located in Elizabethtown, Pa. Please save the following dates, as we believe you will not want to miss this crucial opportunity to learn more about how we can partner with students and the adults in their lives to help them navigate our current culture. Our goal is to direct students toward being lifelong Christians, having a Biblical worldview of prominent issues in our culture and making choices that lead to a successful and Godly life. The series will be open to area churches, other Christian and public schools, homeschool groups and the community at large.
