University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology: In honor of “The Golden Age of King Midas” exhibition, a Turkish Film Festival offers a look at the culture scene in Turkey Sept. 30-Oct. 9. Six films, ranging from dramas to an English-language travel documentary, will be offered. Admission is $10 per film and start times vary. The Penn Museum is at 3260 South St., Philadelphia. Mercer Museum: Poet and storyteller Michele Belluomini talks about legendary American figures, such as Johnny Appleseed, the Mighty Casey, and Sally Ann Thunder Whirlwind Crockett with “American Tall Tales and Larger-Than-Life Heroes” at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the museum, 84 S.
