Arts festival to showcase four local designers
For the fifth consecutive year, GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., will present arts festival READING today and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $7 in advance or $8 at the door; ages 12 and under are free.
New to the arts festival this year will be Art Meets Décor, a showcase of four local interior designers: Melodie Burkey, of M Design Interiors; Jennifer Inners, of Saylor House; Anne Ricks of Bella Interiori; and Stephanie Rado Taormina of Stephanie Rado Taormina Interiors and Art. Each designer
has selected handmade items from various
artists and craft-persons represented at the festival to create inspiring room vignettes, which will be on display each day. Additionally, each designer will be available throughout the weekend to discuss their vignettes and answer questions about their services.
Coinciding with American Craft Week, the nation’s largest celebration of handmade craft, arts festival READING will include almost 100 exhibiting artists, several live demonstrations in ceramics, wood, fiber, metal, glass, and painting, along with live musical performances, a selection of local food vendors, coffee bar, and beer/ wine bar.
