Sam Feiser and Kyle Dix are headed to the NCAA Division II Swim Championships March 8-11 in Birmingham, Ala.

The duo helped Bloomsburg finish second in the PSAC Championships Feb. 16-19 in York.

Junior Feiser (Owen J. Roberts) qualified in three events at the PSACs. He became the first swimmer in league history to break 20 seconds when he captured the 50 freestyle in 19.98. That’s the seventh fastest time on the NCAA performance list. He’s also 16th in the 100 free (44.42) and 21st in the 200 butterfly (1:48.95). Feiser captured those titles as well as being a member of two winning relay teams.

“Sam was simply outstanding at the PSAC Championships,” coach Stu Marvin said. “It was the best performance in a championship meet by any Huskie swimmer in the 57 years of the program.”

Sophomore Dix (Perkiomen Valley) earned the NCAA berth by finishing second to Feiser in the 50 free in 20.10. He also finished

second in the 100 butterfly (49.01) and third in the 200 butterfly (1:51.44) and the 100 freestyle (45.24). While he qualified in just one event, he can swim races where he posted a B cut time. Dix was also on three winning relay teams and the Huskies will be able to compete in all five relays at the nationals.

“Sam will swim the 50 and 100 free and the 100 and 200 butterfly plus three relays while Kyle will swim the 50 and 100 free and the 100 butterfly and with four relays,” Marvin said. “Both of them are projected to make the finals in the 50 free and three or four of the relays.
