Betty (Taglieber) Peirson, 88, of Phoenixville

Betty (Taglieber) Peirson, 88, wife of the late James R. Peirson Sr., of Phoenixville, died on Wednesday, March 2, 2017.

Born on September 9, 1928, in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Edythe (Schroyer) Taglieber. The family moved to Phoenixville when Betty was age 2 and she remained there for the rest of her life. She attended St. Ann’s School and Phoenixville Senior High School. She bled Purple and White, serving as class secretary for the Class of 1946 and also as a varsity cheerleader. Betty was one of a core group of classmates responsible for organizing class reunions for decades after graduation.

She was also a lifelong member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

Before raising her family, Betty worked for the Kulp & Gordon Trucking Company. In later years, she was an employee of the Kimberton Company.

Surviving their mother are four children: son Jim Peirson Jr., and wife Carol Peirson of Limerick, PA; son John (Jack) Peirson of Richmond, VA; son David Peirson and wife Debora Peirson of Douglasville, PA; and daughter Jill Peirson of Royersford, PA. In addition, three grandsons: James Hoy of Pottstown, PA and Daniel Peirson and Matthew Peirson of California.

Also one surviving sister-in-law, Jane Peirson of New Smyrna Beach, FL, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Daniel Taglieber III, also from Phoenixville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Main Street at 3rd Avenue, Phoenixville, PA, on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 10:30 am.

Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Phoenixville, PA.

A viewing will be held in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA, on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, and in church on Wednesday morning from 9:30 am to 10:15 am.
