George J. “Duke” Fleig III, 71, of Lower Pottsgrove Twp., Pottstown, PA, husband of Louise A. (Damiano) Fleig, died Friday, March 17, 2017 at Seasons Hospice Phoenixvil­le

Born in Albany, NY, he was a son of the late George J. Fleig Jr. and the late Ruth (Sweeney) Fleig. As a young adult he was awarded the Eagle Scout Badge, the highest designatio­n in the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Fleig was employed in the Financial Industry for many years as a mortgage banker. He was last employed by Inter County Mortgage Network. He was a US Army Veteran serving in Korea during the Vietnam war.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, John Henry Fleig, Pottstown; Joshua Michael Fleig, Horsham; two daughters, Kimberly Sinkbeil, Pottsgrove; Kim Marie Fleig, Egg Harbor, NJ; one brother, John Henry Fleig, husband of Sue Fleig, Albany; three sisters, Pam wife of Thomas Lemme, Guilderlan­d, NY; Sue Fleig, Binghamton, NY; Shawn wife of Rick Femia, Guilderlan­d, NY; and fourteen grandchild­ren. He was predecease­d by one sister, Ruthie Malphrus of Colonie, NY.

A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday March 25, with calling hours at 10:00 am at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave., Albany, NY 12203, followed by a funeral mass.

A luncheon celebratio­n of Duke’s life will be held immediatel­y following at Shaker Ridge Country Club, 802 Albany Shaker Ridge Road, Albany, NY.

On April 2 from 2pm to 5pm will be a celebratio­n and luncheon of Duke’s life for all his friends in the PA/ NJ area; held at The Moshulu, 401 S Christophe­r Columbus Blvd., Philadelph­ia, PA 19106.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made in memory of “Duke” to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, C/O Lauren’s Lifesavers, 27 Homestead Lane, Royersford, PA 19468 or http://fightcf. cff.org/goto/laurenslif­esavers . He would be extremely honored to be remembered in way of a charity that he was so passionate about.
