Robert L. Gooding, 89, of Mont Clare

Robert L. Gooding, 89, husband of the late Martha A. (Yatsko) Gooding, of Mont Clare, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Phoenixville Hospital. Born on Aug. 20, 1927 in New Britain, Conn., he was a son of the late Clarence and Mina (Cyr) Gooding.

Bob served in the United States Army during World War II. He retired after 27 years from Fleming Foods Co., in Oaks. He was a member of St. Ann Church and enjoyed time spent volunteering for St. Michael’s Church, cemetery and picnic grove mowing grass.

Bob was a Notre Dame fan and an avid golfer, who enjoyed golf trips to Myrtle Beach.

Bob is survived by son: Daniel R., husband of Susan Gooding, of Mont Clare; daughter: Nancy G., wife of Ted Geigus, of Pottstown; four grandchildren: Kathi and Eric Gooding and Matthew and Benjamin Geigus; brother: Raymond Gooding, of Southington, Conn.; and sister: Joyce Petrolito of Cape Canaveral, Fla. He was preceded in death by brother: Charles Gooding; and sister: Phyllis Schaub.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral mass at St. Ann Church, Main Street at Third Avenue, Phoenixville, on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. John J. Newns. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Mont Clare. Friends will be received from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville.
