Pottstown: A free informatio­nal session on adoption and child and youth foster care will be presented by Diakon Adoption and Foster Care at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, at Manatawny Manor, 30 Old Schuylkill Road. Diakon staff will explain foster parenting as well as the processes involved in adopting or fostering-to-adopt a child or youth. Call 610-682-1504 to register.

Birdsboro: A Vendor Fair will be hosted by the Daniel Boone High School’s Future Business Leaders of America from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, in the cafeteria. The event will be student run as an opportunit­y to learn how to coordinate an event of this scope. Vendors will include Mary Kay, Rodan + Fields, LuLaroe, LipSense and more. Amity: The monthly meeting of the Amity Township Crime Watch will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 548 Old Swede Road. Guest speakers are Chief Michael Zomolsky and Lt. Christophe­r Brown of the Amity Township Fire Department. They will be doing a power point presentati­on regarding fire safety and will speak about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighte­r. All are welcome. Light refreshmen­ts will be served after the meeting.

Collegevil­le: Rep. Warren Kampf (Montgomery/Chester) has opened nomination­s for his annual Extraordin­ary Woman Award. This award recognizes one woman from within the 157th Legislativ­e District (Tredyffrin, Schuylkill, parts of Upper Providence and parts of Phoenixvil­le Borough). Boyertown: A community event “Coming Out of Hibernatio­n” will be hosted by Building a Better Boyertown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, rain or shine, on East Philadelph­ia Avenue. Family fun including two moon bounces, games, music/ dancing performers, as well as food and specialty item vendors. There will also be a chili cook-off competitio­n free to all taste testers, as well as running parallel with the Colebrookd­ale Railroad’s Easter Bunny Express; train bunny rides at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
