Pottstown: A free informational session on adoption and child and youth foster care will be presented by Diakon Adoption and Foster Care at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, at Manatawny Manor, 30 Old Schuylkill Road. Diakon staff will explain foster parenting as well as the processes involved in adopting or fostering-to-adopt a child or youth. Call 610-682-1504 to register.
Birdsboro: A Vendor Fair will be hosted by the Daniel Boone High School’s Future Business Leaders of America from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, in the cafeteria. The event will be student run as an opportunity to learn how to coordinate an event of this scope. Vendors will include Mary Kay, Rodan + Fields, LuLaroe, LipSense and more. Amity: The monthly meeting of the Amity Township Crime Watch will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 548 Old Swede Road. Guest speakers are Chief Michael Zomolsky and Lt. Christopher Brown of the Amity Township Fire Department. They will be doing a power point presentation regarding fire safety and will speak about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.
Collegeville: Rep. Warren Kampf (Montgomery/Chester) has opened nominations for his annual Extraordinary Woman Award. This award recognizes one woman from within the 157th Legislative District (Tredyffrin, Schuylkill, parts of Upper Providence and parts of Phoenixville Borough). Boyertown: A community event “Coming Out of Hibernation” will be hosted by Building a Better Boyertown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, rain or shine, on East Philadelphia Avenue. Family fun including two moon bounces, games, music/ dancing performers, as well as food and specialty item vendors. There will also be a chili cook-off competition free to all taste testers, as well as running parallel with the Colebrookdale Railroad’s Easter Bunny Express; train bunny rides at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
