Access Services names new senior vice president/COO

FORT WASHINGTON » Susan Steege of Chalfont has been named senior vice president and Chief Operating Officer of Access Services, a non-profit agency offering services for children, adults and families living with developmen­tal disabiliti­es and mental health challenges across 11 counties in Eastern Pennsylvan­ia.

Steege began her career at Access Services in 1981 while completing her bachelor’s in social work at Eastern University. After graduation Steege worked as a social worker in a day care center for children at risk in the Boston area. In 2002 she returned to Access Services as the assistant director of Lifesharin­g and in 2007 was promoted to regional vice president of the Bethlehem Region.

Steege has completed a certificat­ion in non-profit management from The Nonprofit Center at La Salle University and is a candidate for a master’s degree in Organizati­onal Leadership from Cairn University. She also serves on the board of directors at NorthCare Women’s Clinic in Lansdale and the St. John’s Family Resource Center in Willow Grove.

In her new role, Steege will provide oversight for all the programs at Access Services.

MANATAWNY STILL WORKS PICKS UP MORE AWARDS » Manatawny Still Works recently brought home two medals from the American Distilling Institute’s annual awards presentati­on in Baltimore.

The distillery’s barrel-rested Hidden River Gin was awarded a Silver Medal in the “Aged Gin” category and its Keystone Whiskey took home a Bronze Medal in the “Non-Typical Whiskey” category.

It was the second award this year for Manatawny Still Works’ Hidden River Gin. The gin was one of four Manatawny Spirits to win medals at the American

Craft Spirit Awards in February.
