Kermit L. Gaugler, 92
Kermit L. Gaugler born on March 16, 1925 in Gilberstville, passed away at 92 years young on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Parkhouse Center in Royersford.
Born in Gilbertsville, he was the son of the late Vernes and Amy (Latshaw) Gaugler.
Kermit is survived by his beloved wife Helyn (Williams) Gaugler, by a son K. Gary Gaugler husband of Gay (Wannop) Pottstown, two daughters Donna Grace Skiadas, Pine Forge, and Debra L. Esterline wife of Winfield III Myrtle Beach, SC, beloved stepson Fred (Skip) Fagley husband of Donna (Trexler) Royerford. Also, survived by four loving grandchildren, K. Gary, Jr., Kenneth G., Tara E (Keene), & David, and seven great grandchildren, and eight nieces and nephews.
Kerm was a proud Marine Corporal during WW2 and life member of the Boyertown American Legion Home, where he had served as Commander during the 1960’s and Captain of their color guard. As a young man, he enjoyed flying and achieved his pilot’s license and raised prize winning coon trial hounds as did his father. Later in life it was his joy to go camping with his wife and her son & daughter-in-law.
He was an appliance repairman for Levitz Furniture Store in Pottstown, the owned and operated his own business, Kerm’s Appliance Service, served as Maintenance director for Swinehart Properties and Maintenance manager for Elm Court Apartments for Berger Rental Communities, retiring in 1987. After retirement he was grounds keeper for the Pottsgrove School System maintaining the sports fields.
Predeceased by brothers Mervin and Lamar Gaugler, and sister Carolia Kulp, and step son J. Russel Fagley.
An open forum Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in the chapel at Parkhouse Center 1600 Black Rock Road, Royersford, PA 19468.
Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at the Memorial. Interment will be private.
