Stack goes to work without police escort, Wolf mum on reason
HARRISBURG, PA. >> Neither Gov. Tom Wolf nor Lt. Gov. Mike Stack are elaborating on what led Wolf to strip Stack of Pennsylvania State Police protection and limit cleaning, grounds keeping and maintenance by state employees at Stack’S official residence.
Stack took to his usual role Monday of presiding over the Senate, but without a police escort. Wolf declined Monday to elaborate on the brief statement he issued Friday saying the move was necessary to protect state employees.
It follows an inspector general’s investigation ordered by Wolf into how Stack and his wife treat troopers and other state employees at the stateowned residence.
Stack issued a statement Friday saying his behavior was unacceptable and symptoms of a larger problem. He hasn’t explained what that problem is.
