MANASQUAN, N.J. >> Jersey Mike’s Subs, joined with its generous customers in March during the 7th Annual “Month of Giving,” to raise a record amount of over $5.5 million to fund neighborhood needs nationwide.

The company raised $4.6 million of the total on one day — March 29, Day of Giving. On that day, more than 1,200 Jersey Mike’s restaurants donated 100 percent of sales, not just profits, to nearly 150 different charities across the nation.

Five Philadelphia-area Jersey Mike’s : Phoenixville, West Chester, Horsham, Glen Mills and Trexlertown raised a total of $21,385 that was donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand.

“Our mission statement has always been focused on making a difference in people’s lives, and the over $5.5 million raised this March will go a long way toward supporting the good work of our local partner charities,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO.

During the month of March, customers were invited to come

in to their local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and make a donation to a local designated charity partner. The campaign culminated

in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” when 100 percent of the day’s sales were donated to each local charity partner. The charity recipients included schools, hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.
