Robert L. “Spike” Harris Jr., of Exeter
Robert L. “Spike” Harris Jr., of Exeter, husband of Cynthia L. (Neiman) Harris, passed away Thursday April 27, 2017 with his wife by his side.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Robert L. Sr., and Edna (Glassmoyer) Harris. Robert served in the U.S. Army for nine years as a staff sergeant during the Korean War. He was a former senior vice president at Meridian Bank. Robert was a charter member of Living Faith Lutheran Church in Boyertown. He served as mayor of Mount Penn and as a member of the borough council.
Robert had a passion for photography and trains. He enjoyed both model trains as well as volunteering at the East Broad Top Railroad.
Surviving along with his wife are two sisters Beverly Hafer (Robert) and Susan Harris. Along with his parents, Robert was predeceased by his step-mother Stella K. Harris and his brother Gerald Hinnershitz, Sr.
A memorial service will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Living Faith Lutheran Church, 1206 Montgomery Ave., Boyertown, PA 19512, with the Rev. David Johnson officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be held Friday from 1010:45 a.m. at the church.
