Pottstown: Make-and Sell Pierogi Day will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, 1236 Juniper Street, at the corner of Mervine and Juniper.
First Presbyterian
Pottstown: Summer worship schedule begins with worship at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday at First Presbyterian. The dedication of the Labyrinth will take place immediately following worship. There will be no Sunday School during the summer months. Spring City: Bethel United Methodist Church is sponsoring The Chester County Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired program on the Digital Talking Book Machine, presented by Patricia Milliken, visitation/counselor, at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the Cafe. Kimberton: Confirmation Sunday will be celebrated at Centennial Lutheran Church, 1330 Hares Hill Road. In addition, in celebration of Father’s Day, carnations will be on display in honor of or in memory of fathers.

Boyertown: Graduation Recognition Day will be celebrated on Sunday at the 9:30 a.m. service at Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, 35 W. Philadelphia Ave. Heifer International Mission Trip Fundraiser will be held from 6 to 10 p.m on Monday at Rita’s Italian Water Ice. Vacation Bible School hosted with St. John’s Lutheran Church will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Thursday
at Good Shepherd UCC. Free admission. Optional After-Care Service available from noon to 5 p.m.
St. Luke’s Lutheran
Obelisk:
The Praise Service will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road, led by the praise band, Messenger. Vacation Bible School begins Monday and continues through Friday. A free dinner will be offered each night at 5:30 p.m. followed by Bible School classes from 6 to 8 p.m. The theme is “Superheroes of the Bible.”
Christ Lutheran
Barto:
Those who serve on the Altar Guild will be recognized and thanked for their service during the Joys and Concerns at the 9 a.m. service on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road. Special music will be sung by soprano, Rachel Miller, a student at Kutztown University. Sunday School and Adult Sunday School classes have concluded and will resume on Rally Day, Sept. 10.
St. James Lutheran
Limerick: The Scholarship Committee of St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road, has awarded a scholarship to Emily Frantz, a graduate of Spring-Ford High School, for her dedication and service to the church. At Sunday services, children will display robots and rockets which have been made as decorations for “Maker Fun Factory Vacation Bible School” which starts on June 26. A Men’s Fellowship Breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. today at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, 2203 Harmonyville Road. Pottstown: An “All Church” yard sale will be held inside from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, rain or shine, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St. Some food items will be offered for purchase as well. Sunday marks the first Sunday of the new summer worship schedule with only one service at 9 a.m. Sunday school is on summer break. All are welcome.
Brownback’s UCC
Spring City: The Annual Father’s Day Breakfast will be held at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday at Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road. The 10 a.m. worship service will follow breakfast. Following worship, all are invited to Social Hour in Fellowship Hall.
St. Paul’s UCC
Pottstown: St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 927 N. Franklin St., will be joining with Christ Episcopal, St. John’s UCC, Trinity UCC, Zion’s UCC and First Baptist church for Vacation Bible School from Sunday, June 25 through Thursday, June 29. First Baptist will be the host church and daily sessions will run from 6 to 8:30 p.m. The theme is “Passport to Peru.” Registration forms are available for children 3 years to 6th grade. Please return registration forms before June 25, or bring on the first evening. VBS is free to all.
Shepherd of the Hills
Bechtelsville: The youth mission team at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansville Road, will hold a car wash fundraiser on Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon. Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, June 19, to Friday, June 23, from 9 to 11:45 a.m. “Maker Fun Factory” is the theme.
St. John’s UCC
Pottstown: Father’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 11 S. Price St., with Rev. Judy Miller as guest pastor. The summer worship also begins on Sunday with the service being held at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. The Guild will hold their annual Appreciation Dinner at Red Lobster on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The church will be joining with other area churches to hold Vacation Bible School from Sunday, June 25, to Thursday, June 29, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church “Passport to Peru” will be the theme.
St. Luke Lutheran
Gilbertsville:
“Meet and Greet” the pastoral candidate from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Memorial Hall. The candidate will lead in worship at the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday. Sunday will be the start of the “Simply Summer” worship, using the Service of Word and Prayer. A congregational meeting will follow the service. The softball team will play Immaculate Conception of Birdsboro at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday at Daniel Boone Mid #42. The Sr. Breakfast Group will meet at 8 a.m. at Saville’s for it’s monthly breakfast. The Community Clothing Rack will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday for distribution. Please note the summer hours.

Royersford: The summer schedule will begin on Sunday with worship at 9:30 a.m. in the air conditioned Social Hall at First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St. Pastor Deb Timmins will deliver the message “the worst sermon ever” and will be installed as the Designated Pastor.
Zion’s UCC
Pottstown:
Kim Adamson is guest minister at the 10:15 a.m. service on Sunday at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. She is a Member in Discernment from Moravian Theological Seminary and is currently director of financial aid at Cedar Crest College. The Heifer International Project will be observed through an offering. Heifer has helped 25 million families worldwide through gifts such as chicks, rabbits, llamas, tree seedlings and irrigation pumps. Eileen McCormick will offer a vocal solo. Church volunteers will prepare and serve the Community Meal at noon on Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Emmanuel Lutheran
Pottstown: The 1st Sunday of the month breakfast will be held on Sunday beginning at 8:30 a.m. at Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 150 North Hanover St. Service at 10:15 a.m. All are welcome.
Shenkel UCC
North Coventry:
Beginning Sunday, the Gathering worship service will be held at 9:30 a.m. in the picnic grove at Shenkel United Church of Christ, 1580 Shenkel Road. Summer worship is informal, dress for comfort and lawn chairs and beach blankets are welcome. If the weather is too hot or rainy, worship will be moved inside to the social hall. The whole community is welcome. The 8:30 a.m. Morning Prayer and Meditation service will continue to be held in the sanctuary, as usual.
Bethel Community
Pottstown: Men of Valor will lead in worship and the Men of Valor Men’s Choir will be singing at the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday at Bethel Community Church of Pottstown, 575 N. Keim St. All members are encouraged to invite family and friends to attend.
St. Peter’s Lutheran
Pottstown: Father’s Day will be celebrated at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St., by honoring all fathers. Immediately following each worship service, strawberries and cake will be served by members of the Parish Life Committee in the church parlor. The Seniors Luncheon is scheduled at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Ron’s Crooked Hill Tavern, Sanatoga.
