Presley Hamlette, 52, of Pottstown

Presley Hamlette “Duke,” 52, of Pottstown, husband of the late Kimberly Hamlette of Pottstown, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 12, 2017.

He was born March 17, 1965 to Pressley Day and the late Jearline Hamlette.

Presley was a 1983 graduate of Pottstown Senior High School where he enjoyed the game of basketball. Later in life, he grew to love the game of golf. Duke also loved the game of spades. He was truly a sports fanatic! Steelers, Yankees and Sixers were never losers in his eyes. His household rivalry was the Eagles vs. the Steelers. He was a true humanitarian and loved people. After the loss of his wife, he created the Kimberly Hamlette Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship would grant funding to a graduating senior who faced family hardship due to their parents being ill. His love for his children, Diamand, Jade and Preston was unparalleled. He was a sensational son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by his children, Diamand Donovan, wife of Mike Donovan, Jade Hamlette and Preston Hamlette; father, Pressley Day, husband of Gloria; sisters, Cheryl Hamlette, Linda Anthony, wife of Bishop Michael Anthony, Toni HamletteWilliams; and siblings, Cynthia Weaver, Scott Carpenter, Shawn Carpenter, Tiko Carpenter, Ezra Wright, Daytrell Wheeler, Caesar Day, Julia Day, Inlaws Norma Jean Moore Allen, Neal Allen, Tyrone Allen, Brian Allen, James Wiggins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

On Saturday, July 22, 2017, viewing services will be held from 9 a.m. 11 a.m. with funeral services following at 11 a.m., Pottstown Senior High School, 750 N. Washington Street, Pottstown, PA 19464. Bishop Michael Anthony, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Limerick Memorial Gardens in Limerick, PA.
