Emanuel ‘Manny’ Lapreziosa, 90, of Limerick
Emanuel “Manny” Lapreziosa, 90, died peacefully in his Limerick Township home on July 16, 2017. He was the husband to Rita (Siliquini), with whom he shared a marriage of 67 years.
Born in Philadelphia, Manny was the son of the late Charles and Josephine (Siracusa) Lapreziosa. After high school, he served in the Army, and then earned a BS in chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania. He worked in the vinyl industry for over forty years, starting from process chemist and progressing to plant manager and eventually Director of Technology at Occidental Chemical’s Pottstown facility. He was awarded two patents for chemical process innovations.
Always a gentleman, Manny will be remembered for his kindness, wry humor, and love of family. He had many interests and hobbies during his adult life, including foreign travel, photography, golf, bowling, model railroading, and Toastmasters, for which he served as president of a local club. He is survived by five children: Diane, Mark (Lisa), David (Tracy), Gary (Nobuko), and Craig, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his sister-in-law Silvia Siliquini. He was predeceased by older siblings Frank Lapreziosa and Vincentine Perricone.
A viewing will be held on Friday July 21, 2017 from 9:30- 10:30 A.M. from Warker-Troutman Funeral Home 726 East High St., Pottstown, PA, followed by a brief service at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Del. County. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Manny’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
