Arlene B. (Dotterrer) Yob, 93, formerly of Kutztown, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 in Berks Heim, Leesport, where she was a resident for three years. She was the widow of Harold A. Yob, who died in 1985. Her first husband, Melvin H. Schaeffer, died in 1959. Born in Rockland Township, Arlene was a daughter of the late John and Katie (Bieber) Dotterrer. Mrs. Yob was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Rockland Township, where she was a shoe-fly pie baker. She worked at the former Wenton Shoe Company and Nitronics, Inc., both of Kutztown, and in the wire and cable department at East Penn Manufactur­ing Co., Inc., Lyons. Most recently, Arlene worked as a private housekeepe­r for several years. She was a proud member of HochBaltha­ser Post 480, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Kutztown, and later a member of Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Topton. Arlene loved to crochet, embroider and do needle point, and gift her work to her family members.

Arlene is survived by her five children, Gladys A. (Schaeffer) Kline, wife of Earl L. Derr, Mertztown, Jane D. (Schaeffer), widow of Joseph F. Bennett, Kutztown, Brenda L. (Schaeffer), widow of Donald P. Wagaman, Mertztown, Bruce M., husband of Carol (Rhode) Schaeffer, Fleetwood, and Glenn D. Yob, Topton; eight grandchild­ren, Tina, Kathy, Kimberly, Mark, Dawn, Todd, Jayme and Amanda; 12 great-grandchild­ren, Joshua, Amy, Carrie, Christophe­r, Derek, Dana, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Sarah, Connor, Haley and Patrick; and two great-great granddaugh­ters, Aubrey and Lillian. Arlene was predecease­d by both of her husbands; parents; a grandson, Nathan; and three sisters.

A funeral service to celebrate Arlene’s life will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood, with the Rev. Ruth F. Doty officiatin­g. Burial will follow in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood, (Rockland Township). Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
