It was refreshing to hear that somebody on the Upper Perkiomen School Board finally put their foot down and said no to the $65 million middle school. Somebody finally was looking out for the taxpayers. It’s refreshing because most school board members are just rubber stamps for the school district but it was great to hear.

Hillary Clinton lied and nothing happened to her. Michael Flynn lied and they ruined his life. Donald Trump lied and they made him president. Go figure.

To A Proud Vietnam Veteran, thanks for being a veteran but you won’t think President Trump is so great after reading Michelle Singletary’s column, “The Color of Money,” in the Dec. 4 Mercury.

OK Mr. President, you can move the American Embassy anywhere in the Middle East you want to but you don’t have the authority to rename a capital in a foreign country. You will have lit a match in an already explosive region of the world and I’m afraid no one will be able to put out the fire you will have started. Very troubling.

I was at the Thanksgiving Day football game between Pottstown and Owen J. Roberts. It wasn’t much of a game but what I witnessed at half time was what Pottstown needs more social coverage of. Russ Gofus of Gofus Memorials re-donated a memorial bench, that he donated years ago that got vandalized, out of the goodness of his heart. Way to go Russ. There are still good people out there in our community.

The Republicans in Alabama are going to vote for a child molester Roy Moore for the U.S. Senate. Nine women have come forward. The only person supporting Moore in Washington is Donald Trump. What does that tell you? When Moore was 32-years-old he was banned from a mall in Alabama because of his bad behavior. What is wrong with the Republicans of Alabama? Is there something in their drinking water?

Our Washington people have shown how evil and greedy they are. Not only is the middle class on the chopping block now but our national monuments and parks are as well. Really, make America great again?

To the person that thinks the casinos are to help the homeowners and their taxes I’m not sure about that but I do remember the casinos are supposed to help senior citizens in the state of Pennsylvania.

How could a new school board in the Upper Perkiomen School District waste $17 million of the taxpayers money? They should restart the new middle school immediately. It is in the best interest of the children and the Upper Perkiomen Valley community.

I say we ban glitter from the stores. I don’t want to put my stuff on the counter and it’s all full of glitter. Please put a ban on glitter.

Vestiges of Obama disparate impact policy may have played a role in student attacks on Harrisburg teachers prompting dozens of resignations. The policy set limitations, primarily race-based, on discipline and threatened school districts with federal funding cuts if those limits were exceeded. The result? Nationwide mayhem.

There’s a lot of information and publicity about the women that are being harassed by men. Is there a group out there that is concerned about neighbors harassing neighbors and vandalizing their property because the local officials will not do anything about it? I hope there’s a group out there that will start speaking up about neighbors being so nasty to other neighbors.

I tip my hat to Bob from Boyertown who recently showed support of my viewpoint on liberal bias. Chivalry is not dead.

It’s quite apparent that the Harrisburg legislators and judicial system is far more corrupt than the Trump administration. All you have to do is look, see, hear and read.

We got our letter from Social Security about the new raise. Guess what, we got a $10 raise but Medicare went up $30 so we’re still in the hole. It seems like the government is always playing mind games with us.

I honestly can’t believe that most of America refuses to see all the criminal deception coming out of the Democratic Party and the last administration. All the underhanded workings in the FBI is very troubling. Thank God Trump won or we would never know what went on the past few years. Admitted leakers, unmasking, destroying evidence. What a disgrace or should I say deplorable.

My doctor told me that I should stay active now that I’ve retired. I asked her if running late counted as exercise.
