Charlotte Marie Tinney, 97, of Spring City
Charlotte Marie (Sech) Tinney, 97, wife of the late Lloyd Tinney, of Spring City, PA, died on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, in Seasons Hospice, Phoenixville, PA.
Born in Phoenixville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Charlotte (Rakay) Sech.
Charlotte began work as a medical secretary at the Valley Forge Army Hospital, followed by 31 years of employment as a secretary in the Owen J. Roberts School District, a job that she loved. She was a member of the Kimberton Grange and Phoenixville Senior Center.
Surviving are a daughter, Lynn Himes and husband Andy; daughter-in-law, Ruth Tinney and companion, Michael McFarland; five grandchildren, Sean Tinney (husband of Genevieve), Meaghan Caldwell (wife of Jose), Michael Tinney, Tyler Himes, and Rachel Himes; eight greatgrandchildren, Alexa, Madison, Braden, Evelyn, Malakai, Keegan, Griffin and Sioban; many nieces and nephews and countless friends who were loved as family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; son, Patrick; sister, Dorothy Taylor; and brothers, Robert and William Sech.
“Nana,” as she was lovingly referred to by family and friends, lived, in her words, a very happy life. She had fond memories of vacations, summers in Sea Isle City, NJ, shopping excursions, swimming at the YMCA and spending time together as a family.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Devlin, Rosmos, Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
