Walsh delivers OJR past Methacton, 1-0

Sam Walsh pitched a complete-game shutout to lift the Owen J. Roberts softball team to a 1-0 win over Methacton in a Pioneer Athletic Conference Liberty Division matchup on Wednesday.

Walsh let up three walks and struck out four. OJR scored the game’s lone run in the bottom of the fourth inning when Rylie Hijosh singled to right to score Maddison Twaddell. Methacton starter Aubrey Seal pitched all six innings and was tagged with six hits

and three walks.

UPPER PERKIOMEN 11, POPE JOHN PAUL II 0 » Taylor Lindsay tossed a two-hit shutout and was 2-for-2 with an RBI as Upper Perk won a five-inning PAC contest.

Morgan Lindsay, Karlee Fretz, Alyssa Sullivan and Kelsey Bernhart also had multi-hit days for Upper Perk.

PHOENIXVIL­LE 7, POTTSGROVE 6 » The Phantoms rallied from six runs down over their final three at-bats to earn a walk-off win over Pottsgrove thanks to pitcher Kendall Brown’s full-count RBI double. Brown had two hits and got the pitching win, allowing nine hits over seven innings. Aubrie Breisblatt also had two hits for Phoenixvil­le (3-1 PAC), which benefitted from a five-run sixth inning.

Kira Livezey, Savannah Wilson and Olivia Klaptosky had multi-hit games for Pottsgrove.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 12, NORRISTOWN 0 » The Vikings scored 10 runs in the first inning and cruised to a PAC Liberty Division win over the Eagles.

Kacie Souder held Norristown to one hit and a walk in five innings of work to pick up the win.

DANIEL BOONE 11, EXETER 1 » The Blazers did the bulk of their scoring early on the way to a Berks Conference victory over the Eagles.

Dani Hayes hit two home runs and drove in five runs while Sydney Hayes had another homer. Taylor Henderson went 4-for-4 with a triple and Liz Nitka had another three-bagger. Heather Hall held the Eagles to one run through five innings on the mound, and Henderson closed out the game in relief.

UPPER PERKIOMEN 4, OWEN J. ROBERTS 2 » The Tribe made a three-run first inning hold up as Trey Livingston­e threw six innings and didn’t allow an earned run in a PAC victory.

Justin Wornham was 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Upper Perk managed just three hits to four by OJR. Ryan Sayers was 2-for-3 with the Wildcats. Dawson Stuart took the loss (5.1 IP, 3 hits, 4 runs, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K).

SPRING-FORD 13, POTTSTOWN 8 » Coy Walters went deep twice and the Rams scored runs in every inning on the way to a PAC divisional crossover win over the Trojans.

Walters finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI while Patrick Jucker was 3-for-4 with a pair of triples and two runs scored. Cooper Webb got the win for Spring-Ford with five innings pitched and four runs (one earned) to his credit. David Hicks blasted a grand slam in the sixth inning for Pottstown. METHACTON 3, POPE JOHN PAUL II 0 » The Warriors plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break open the scoreless tie and claim a PAC divisional crossover win against the Golden Panthers.

Justin Dubost pitched

into the seventh inning before giving it over to Jordan Lukas for the final out. Dubost allowed just one hit and three walks in 6-2/3 innings while striking out 12. Perry Corda and Conor Smith finished with doubles and runs scored batting out of the one- and two-hole, respective­ly. PJP’s Logan Mabry pitched all six innings while scattering seven hits.

POTTSGROVE 3, NORRISTOWN 0 » Ethan McMonagle pitched the completega­me shutout in the Falcons’ PAC cross divisional win over the Eagles.

McMonagle scattered four hits and let up just one walk while striking out six. Bailey Delp (run scored) and Alex Stump (two RBI) had two hits apiece. Dom Proietta finished with a double and pitched five innings for Norristown.

BOYERTOWN 15, UPPER MERION 7 » Mike Martin and Mike Hohlfeld hit homers while Sam Longacre finished 4-for-4 during the Bears’ PAC divisional crossover win against the Vikings.

Martin finished with two hits and two runs scored while Hohlfeld was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. Longacre had three RBI and two runs scored while Drew Hartman picked up the pitching win with three innings of work.

SPRING-FORD 15, PHOENIXVIL­LE 2 » The Rams rolled to a one-sided PAC win over the Phantoms with Peyton Gensler and Ryan Rosenblum leading the way.

Gensler had four goals and two assists and Rosenblum had three goals and two assists.

SPRINGSIDE-CHESTNUT HILL 10, HILL SCHOOL 6 » The Blues were unable to rally to a win against SCH in non-league play. Griffin Dunn (1G, 1A), JJ Pickard (2G) and Carter Page (1G, 1A) made multi-point days for Hill.

Girls lacrosse

OWEN J. ROBERTS 16, METHACTON 4 » Charlotte Lasak and Eloise Gebert scored five goals apiece in the Wildcats’ big win over the Warriors.

Maddie Koury had a goal and six assists while Kelsey Kilgallon had a goal and two assists. Lilly Kull also scored twice for OJR (2-0, 2-3). Sydney Tornetta scored twice for Methacton (2-2, 3-4).

PHOENIXVIL­LE 14, POTTSGROVE 5 » Katie Baker scored five goals to pace the Phantoms to a win over the Falcons in PAC Frontier Division play.

Krya Trafford (four assists) and Mary Michaud scored three goals apiece while Ally Bonshock had a goal and three assists. Emma Visnov and Maddie Mitchell (two assists) were credited with solo goals while Sydney Alling made four saves.

POPE JOHN PAUL II 8, UPPER PERKIOMEN 6 » The Golden Panthers used a 5-3 secondhalf advantage to claim a PAC Frontier Division win against the Tribe.

Monica Rapchinski led the way with five goals while Grace Cobaugh (two assists), Rory Nelson and Caroline Slattery rounded out the scoring for PJP.

BOYERTOWN 16, SPRINGFORD 5 » Sydney Fox scored six times to lead the Bears to a PAC Liberty Division rout of the Rams.

Hayden Corcoran, Amanda Diachynsky (assist), Kristy Kada (assist) and Ashley Dierolf added two goals apiece while Kylie Webb had a goal and two helpers. Kasey Fox and Sarah Didget combined for 15 saves in net.

HILL SCHOOL 12, BLAIR ACADEMY 5 » The Blues pulled away in the second half thanks to two-goal games from Tatumn Eccleston, Jordan Hower, Giavanna Tabarrini and Logan Clouser.

POTTSTOWN 102, PHOENIXVIL­LE 48 » Martin Metzger and Jacob Howard each won two events to key the Trojans’ PAC Frontier Division victory.

Metzger swept the hurdles, taking the 300 intermedia­tes in 42.82 and the 110 highs in 16.95, and Howard won the long jump (2111 1/2) and triple jump (43-1). Isaac Gale was a two-race winner for Phoenixvil­le in the 400 (51.6) and 200 (23.86).

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 75, SPRING-FORD 75 » Josh Magee’s two-win showing headed the Vikings, who went the tiebreaker route to prevail over the Rams in their PAC Liberty Division meet.

Magee dominated the hurdles competitio­n, covering the 300 intermedia­tes in 42.91 and the 110 highs in 16.06.

OWEN J. ROBERTS 95, BOYERTOWN 54 » Liam Conway, Aidan Hayward and Brendon Arcara were the big winners for the Wildcats in their PAC Liberty Division meet with the Bears.

Conway took the 1,600 (4:30.1) and 800 (2:02.9), Hayward headed the shot put (45-8 1/2) and discus (133-11) and Arcara swept the 300 intermedia­te hurdles (45.7) and 110 high hurdles (17-9).

UPPER MERION 70, POPE JOHN PAUL II 70 » With a 9-6 advantage in first-place finishes, the Vikings emerged from their PAC Frontier Division meet against the Golden Panthers with the victory.

PHOENIXVIL­LE 86, POTTSTOWN 64 » Jasmine Hamilton took two throwing events to lead the Phantoms past the Trojans in their PAC Frontier Division meet.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 84, SPRING-FORD 66 » Christina Warren turned in another four-win outing to help the Vikings outrun the Rams in PAC Liberty Division competitio­n.

Warren again split her first between the track and the field, topping the 100 (12.88), the 100 low hurdles (14.51), the long jump (17-1 1/2) and triple jump (3710). Teaghan Schein-Becker topped the distance races for PV, winning the 1,600 (5:15.72) and the 3,200 (11:35.86).

OWEN J. ROBERTS 103, BOYERTOWN 47 » Corrin Ferrizzi and Sam Muntzer each won two events to head the Wildcats’ showing in their PAC Liberty Division meet with the Bears.

Ferrizi headed the long jump (15-6) and triple jump (35-4), with Muntzer doing the same in the 300 intermedia­te hurdles (50.1) and the 100 low hurdles (17.3). Boyertown’s lone firsts came from Aurora Conrad in the 200 (28.1), Jen Fretz in the shot put (30-10 1/2) and Kayla Yacavone in the discus (111-4 1/2).
