Police respond to 65 calls over weekend
Check out highlights of some of the more interesting borough police calls over the May 11-13 weekend.
POTTSTOWN »Drug and alcohol violations were the leading crime in Pottstown over the past week.
According to crimemapping.com, a policerun website used to inform the public about crime in their area, drug and alcohol violations were reported nine times over the past week.
Seven cases of drug possession were reported since May 8 and occurred on the 800 block of Queen Street, the 700 block of East High Street, the 200 block of Shoemaker Road, along with two additional incidents on East High Street and two on Beech Street. One drug sale was reported on the 100 block of South Washington Street and one case of public drunkenness was reported on the 100 block of North Washington Street.
Assaults and vandalism were both reported four times since May 8. Two non-aggravated assaults were reported on the 300 block of Wilson Street and Beech Street while an assault with hands, feet and fists was reported on the 500 block of North Franklin Street. One assault with a firearm occurred on the 900 block of East High Street.
Criminal mischief was reported on the 800 block of North Evans Street along with two cases other of criminal mischief to buildings on the 200 block of Beech Street and the 300 block of North Evans Street. Criminal mischief to vehicles was reported on the 500 block of King Street.
Fraud and theft were both reported twice over the past week involving two cases of bicycles thefts on Chestnut Street and the 800 block of Beech Street and fraud cases reported on the 500 block of Chestnut Street and the 100 block of Potts Drive.
Harassment, weapons offenses and burglary were each reported once. Harassment was reported on East 3rd Street while a weapons offense involving a knife occurred on the 500 block of North York Street. A burglary involving forced entry was reported on the 600 block of Spruce Street.
