Joyce Mae Kreider of Boyertown

Joyce Mae Kreider, 86, of Boyertown, wife of the late LeRoy Kreider, passed away quietly Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Manatawny Manor.

She was the daughter of the late DelRoy Gilbert and the late S. Mable Gilbert and lived her entire life in the Boyertown area.

Joyce worked as a waitress at Cliff’s Diner and Saville’s Diner. She was also employed at TungSol and Boyertown Apparel.

Joyce enjoyed quilting, spending time with her grandchildren and loved to eat ice cream. She made walker pockets, men’s bathrobes and head covers for cancer patients for the Pottstown Hospital and the Southeast Veterans Center.

Joyce served as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, the Pottstown Hospital and helped make quilts at the Center at Spring Street in Boyertown. Joyce was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Joyce is survived by her brother Bruce Gilbert of Boyertown and by two sons, Harold, husband of Irene of Northwood, New Hampshire, and Randy, husband of Joslyn of Allentown, two grandsons, Ash and Brad; two granddaughters Kendra and Erin, a great grandson Lee and a great granddaughter Brooke.

She is predeceased by her three sisters Elaine Gresh, Harriet Gresh and Dorothy Fryer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life for Joyce on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in the lower sanctuary at 11:00 am followed by a light lunch. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum.
