East Greenville: A Dinner and Dance will be held from 7 to 10:30 p.m. on Friday at New Goshenhopp­en United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road. There will be a variety of music, good food and fellowship. Cost is $12.

First Presbyteri­an

Pottstown: Wear something red for Pentecost Sunday at First Presbyteri­an Church. During the 10:30 a.m. worship the Confirmand­s will profess their faith and the Celtic Choir will sing. A reception will be held after worship in Fellowship Hall for the Confirmand­s and families.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

Obelisk: The Praise Service, led by the praise band Messenger, will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 10:15 a.m.

Barto: The second-year Confirmati­on students, Braden Bartman, Alec Barton, Julia Menear and Evan Shade, will be confirmed and become voting members of the congregati­on during the 10:15 a.m. service on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road. The first-year Confirmati­on students will read scripture and present the Children’s Sermon during the service. All are invited to the parlor for a Coffee Hour immediatel­y following the 10:15 a.m. service hosted by the Hospitalit­y Committee.

First UCC

Royersford: The Men’s Breakfast Club from First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St., will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Collegevil­le Diner. Worship at 11 a.m. on Sunday will include the celebratio­n of Pentecost with Holy Communion, collection of the “Strengthen the Church” special mission offering, and the baptism of four children. A celebrator­y lunch will follow.

Barto: Confirmati­on Sunday will be celebrated at the 10:15 a.m. worship as Emma, Genevieve and Hannah are

confirmed at Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100. A time of fellowship and food will follow the service.

St. James Lutheran

Limerick: Six young people will be confirmed at the 9 a.m. service on Pentecost Sunday at St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler road. Emma Gubanich, Ellie Hanson, Tori Hanson, Erin Kurian, Jayda Marshall and Lisa O’Donnell will affirm their baptism and be confirmed. The Mother-Daughter dinner will start at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Magician Bill Boorse will provide the entertainm­ent.

St. Luke Lutheran

Gilbertsvi­lle: The Affirmatio­n of Baptism of Travis Jacob will be witnessed at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Pentecost Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 35 Wilson Ave., and he will be welcomed as a confirmed member of the church. Please consider wearing red on Sunday, as the sanctuary will be wearing “red” with the red paraments, and geraniums sponsored by numerous members. A coffee hour will follow the service. The youth will be selling their Nonpareil following Sunday’s service. Proceeds will go to funding their attendance at the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas. Some proceeds will also benefit the Boyertown Area Multi-Service. The softball team will play an away game at Spring Valley Community Church at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. The Community Clothing Rack will be open for clothing distributi­on from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Pottstown: Pentecost Sunday/Confirmati­on Sunday with Holy Communion will be celebrated at 8 and 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St. The Rite of Confirmati­on will be celebrated at the 10:30 a.m. worship service for John Lloyd Boalton, Brianna Leigh Cusick, Ashton Jade Hofer, Katlyn Elizabeth Levengood, Franklin Mann 6th, Rylee Grace Mann and Luisa P. Pottstown: Rev. Austin Chinault invites worshipers at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets, to wear red to the 10:15 a.m. service on Sunday in celebratio­n of Pentecost. All are also invited to a reception for new member Richard Adinolfi and for Pentecost birthday cake for the church. Sunday marks the “Strengthen the Church” (STC) special mission offering. STC largely supports youth ministries and full-time leaders for new churches. These funds will be used to award grants to help congregati­ons communicat­e the “God is still speaking” message. Church volunteers will prepare and serve the community meal at noon on Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

Pottstown: The third anniversar­y of Bethel Community Church of Pottstown, 575 N. Keim St., will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday with the Reverend Dr. Marvin A. Marsh, former pastor of First Baptist Church, as guest preacher. The church’s combined choirs will be singing with special selections rendered by Minister Dimitri Horton and Dwight Lamar. All are invited to an “Anniversar­y Reception” immediatel­y following the celebratio­n in the Community Room.

Pottstown: A Ham and Oyster Dinner will be hosted from 4 to 6:30 p.m. tonight at Coventryvi­lle United Methodist Church ,1521 Old Ridge Road. The dinner will be dine in or take out, Cost is $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, and kids under 5 are free. A portion of the proceeds will support the Appalachia Service Project which builds and repairs homes for those in need in the Appalachia­n mountains.
