The Mercury (Pottstown, PA) - - LOCAL NEWS -

In Douglass (Mont.) I don’t know if the Zern track housing development of 240 low income town homes off of Jackson Road in Gilbertsville has been approved. If not, this would be a good starting point to ask the supervisors why they are pushing these developments. I think 240 lowincome town homes on a 20-some acre lot, which is quite small, will cause a lot of other types of problems down the road in Gilbertsville. Concerned Taxpayer

To North Coventry Yankee, first of all you ought to know what you’re talking about when you say Boyertown is complaining about building a new stadium. That’s right, our taxes are high enough now and I don’t know what you’re talking about this Trump tax cut. You’re living in another world. You better wake up. Joanne

Now is the time that we can bring back the USS Pueblo from North Korea. It was taken illegally. It’s been put on display for all these years. It is time for it to come back to us and it is still a commissioned ship. Ed from Oaks

Hopefully the 76ers will not draft another drama queen. That’s the last thing we need from the guy from Cleveland. You have enough good players, develop them, save your money. Remember how much money you blew on Chris Webber. So just think it out, get good players and this and that and everything will come out fine. You have a good group of players to begin with. You don’t need LeBron James, nothing but trouble. The Big Buck

I’d like to thank my good friend and teacher of mathematics at Owen J. Roberts High School, Tom Barr, 35 years of teaching. Congratulations my friend, well done.

Thanks to all the new regulations and oh yeah, parking meter price going up again. If you want people to come to downtown Pottstown there should be free parking or almost free parking. The increase means I will not be going to any of the shops anymore. I’ll be going to the big mall that’s off of Route 100. Thank you Pottstown. A Senior Citizen

When Trump leaves the White House it will be in handcuffs or a straight jacket.

This is to Lady Di. You said to honor the people who laid their lives down who fought for this country. Yes, but what about your president who says John McCain is a loser because he got caught? Answer that for me.

From Winston Churchill “Diplomacy is the art of telling people to go to hell in such a way that they ask for directions.” Grizz

Anthony Bourdain did not commit suicide. He recently did an interview with Elon Musk and was getting ready to tell more.

The Y building being open and in use is good for Pottstown however the YMCA resources being available to the people who need them is more important. The south pool with ramp access, warm water and whirlpool is needed by seniors. Both pools for children, swim lessons, swim team and lap swimming for adults are things that can’t be easily replaced by other resources accessible in Pottstown. Without these irreplaceable resources the rest is window dressing. Senior Citizen

I was in Hill Top Drive In in Sanatoga recently and it has changed owners. The food is still great and a reasonable price. The lady that owns it is a great person. Let’s keep going there for support and help keep the Hill Top where it’s been for the last 50, 60 years.

NFL NBA don’t mean a thing to me. I could care less about those overpaid bums.

Every person who is criticizing President Trump for canceling the Eagles meeting seems to be hostile to him. If he had the meeting then the same people would be arguing from the opposite side and saying he should have cancelled it. Logical Bob

The reason why the people in Boyertown are upset about the stadium is because they put an addition on the school they didn’t need and the stadium was deemed dangerous years prior to the school improvement. So Mr. Yankee, use your head. It has nothing to do with Trump.

Apparently Dennis Rodman did a good job as a negotiator in Singapore and Trump went along for pictures.

Well we know that Channel 12 WPVI public TV is no longer on a fundraiser right now because they dropped the wattage, it’s summer time. So you can’t even receive the stations here in Pottstown. Well maybe we don’t have to receive their stations either when it comes time for the fundraisers. And they can think about that.
