Van­dal­ism, sub­stance vi­o­la­tions lead crime

POTTSTOWN » Van­dal­ism and sub­stance vi­o­la­tions were the most re­ported crimes in Pottstown over the past week.

Ac­cord­ing to crimemap­ping.com, a po­licerun web­site used to in­form the pub­lic about crime in their area, van­dal­ism and sub­stance vi­o­la­tions were each re­ported five times since June 5. Two cases of pub­lic drunk­en­ness were re­ported on the 900 block of north Charlotte Street and the 200 block of East High Street along with two cases of drug pos­ses­sion on King Street and the 100 block of East High Street. An­other drug in­ci­dent was re­ported on the 300 block of New Street. Crim­i­nal mis­chief to build­ings was re­ported on the 100 block of Col­lege Drive and North Franklin Street while crim­i­nal mis­chief to ve­hi­cles was re­ported on the 400 block of Wal­nut Street, the 400 block of Chest­nut Street and the 100 block of North Wash­ing­ton Street.

Ve­hi­cle break-ins and fraud were each re­ported three times over the past week. Ve­hi­cle break-ins were re­ported on the 600 block of North Adams Street, the 100 block of South Charlotte Street and the 300 block of West King Street. Fraud was re­ported on the 100 block of North Hanover Street, the 1000 block of Queen Street and the 700 block of North Wash­ing­ton Street.

As­saults were re­ported twice since June 5. One nonag­gra­vated as­sault was re­ported on Cedar Street along with an as­sault in­volv­ing hands, feet and fists on the 600 block of North Keim Street.

Bur­glary and theft were each re­ported once in the past week with a bur­glary re­ported on the 300 block of West high Street and a retail theft re­ported on the 200 block of Shoe­maker Road.
