Vandalism, substance violations lead crime
POTTSTOWN » Vandalism and substance violations were the most reported crimes in Pottstown over the past week.
According to crimemapping.com, a policerun website used to inform the public about crime in their area, vandalism and substance violations were each reported five times since June 5. Two cases of public drunkenness were reported on the 900 block of north Charlotte Street and the 200 block of East High Street along with two cases of drug possession on King Street and the 100 block of East High Street. Another drug incident was reported on the 300 block of New Street. Criminal mischief to buildings was reported on the 100 block of College Drive and North Franklin Street while criminal mischief to vehicles was reported on the 400 block of Walnut Street, the 400 block of Chestnut Street and the 100 block of North Washington Street.
Vehicle break-ins and fraud were each reported three times over the past week. Vehicle break-ins were reported on the 600 block of North Adams Street, the 100 block of South Charlotte Street and the 300 block of West King Street. Fraud was reported on the 100 block of North Hanover Street, the 1000 block of Queen Street and the 700 block of North Washington Street.
Assaults were reported twice since June 5. One nonaggravated assault was reported on Cedar Street along with an assault involving hands, feet and fists on the 600 block of North Keim Street.
Burglary and theft were each reported once in the past week with a burglary reported on the 300 block of West high Street and a retail theft reported on the 200 block of Shoemaker Road.
