I’d like to know why the police are not enforcing the noise ordinance law in Pottstown? Now that the fireworks are legal there are people shooting them off all night through the hour every single night of the week and there are people that are trying to sleep for work. They should not be allowed to disturb the peace in this way. Please enforce the noise ordinance.

Always be aware of your bank account. I got $10 worth of gas at Wawa the other morning and they charged me a $75 pre-authorization fee. Tommy GJ

Hey Al, you don’t do anything about Maxine Waters unless you do something about Donald Trump first. He’s the one that started preaching all this hate in the first place. You want to fix the problem you go to the source of that problem, and that source lives in the White House.

Now with this stretch of hot weather this is just a reminder if you have pets that live outside, dogs including rabbits, please make sure that they’re well hydrated and in shady areas especially rabbits, the stress from the heat can certainly kill them. Also if you see somebody that’s not doing that, report them. Don’t be a wimp. It’s a crime. Help the pet, not the owner. Also put your pet in the house before any fireworks start. People lose pets every year because of that.

Montgomery County has almost 1,000 miles in bike trails. Now we’re getting bike trails all over the place. When are bicycles going to be licensed like motorcycles and everyone else? If they’re going to take advantage of all these amenities that they’ve gotten then I think they should help pay for them. JB

Pottstown people please stop whining about the bike lanes. You’re always harping on borough council to attract new businesses here. One of the things that businesses look at in a community to relocate is quality of life issues — they like bike lanes, churches, tree-lined streets, good schools. So bike lanes are here to stay and young people like them and it’s a good way to attract people with incomes. Stop Whining About Bike Lanes

Who in their right mind would believe that only Republicans support the police? Trumplings that’s who. The Democrats hate the police is the latest in Donald’s attempt to normalize his daily diet of lies. Rhetoric and demonstrations are not enough. People need to vote in November. Just disagreeing with this illogical agenda is not enough. Make a commitment. Vote. Lord Liv

I think we have had enough commentary about these kids being pulled from their poor mother’s arms down at the border. It all comes down to one word “illegal.” These people are illegal aliens, they have no right to be here. Enough is enough. Call it for what it is. It’s time to move on. Let’s get back to some civility.

This is to Joanne whose comment on teachers ran in Sound off on June 17. Teaching has become a dangerous job as you know if you pay attention to all the toofrequent school shootings resulting in both students and teachers being hurt or killed. Why do teachers “need all that money?” Why do you think? To live comfortably in today’s society after paying for a college education. I’m glad that you and your husband are doing well not “good” financially. A Retired Teacher

After enjoying a delicious pork and sauerkraut dinner at the Hickory Park Restaurant someone paid our entire bill including the tip. What a nice surprise. A big thank you, thank you. EandR

You know the Republicans are getting desperate now when they claim there’s $200 billion a year spent on illegal immigrants. Believe that and I’ll tell you another one.

Republicans have this theory that Democrats want open borders which is not true. Democrats want those who enter this country to also get in line for citizenship. Our Constitution says that if someone enters our country illegally and claims asylum from fear they have processing rights. If you don’t like it change it. What we really dislike is when children are separated from family on purpose. DP

There has been quite a bit of discussion lately including The Mercury editorial about civil discourse or the lack of it in the U.S. Folks it all starts at the top from the most uncivil president in recent memory. How long are we going to put up with this? We need new leadership and the sooner the better. A Responsible Citizen

I drove by the new Ryan Home Development on Bliem and Pleasantview roads. I guess I should’ve figured that the Lower Pottsgrove commissioners would cave into them sooner or later. Some of the most beautiful land that’s been in the township now is destroyed. More of just what we need.
