Thank you Mercury for publishing all the articles on the Catholic Church’s cover up. I believe that all the church leaders from the top to the bottom would rather protect the church than protect a child from years of abuse. How can you believe any priest when the cardinals themselves are involved? Remember they are all men. They cover for each other. How can you give your hard-earned money every week? Agnostic

I guess Omarosa outsmarted Trump. Didn’t take the bribe money. Now who’s looking bad? Jay Miller

This is in reply to the editorial in The Mercury on Aug. 16 entitled “President Trump, we are not the enemy of the people.” Well obviously the fact that you allow differing points of view proves that you are not necessarily the enemy but I have thought for many, many years now that the press was so far opposed to everything this country normally stood for in years past and certainly the Constitution that in a way you are.

For the past two weeks, “Ancient Aliens” had more viewers then CNN. People are catching on that something isn’t right in the news reporting. Unfortunately that includes all news channels even NPR and BBC whom we trusted more than all the rest.

Let us leave Donald Trump alone. Have you ever seen the economy the way it is now, the employment as low as it is, the stock market as high as it is? I think he’s doing a terrific job. I could care less about his personal life. Richard of New Hanover

You are so right Lady Di, our adversaries do come from within. They come from within the White House which is led by a dictator named Donald Trump. It’s so good to see your eyes are finally wide open. We can only hope and pray that everyone will soon wake up and smell the Kool-Aid as well.

Well Jay Miller, I see that you like to read fiction and are advising the rest of us to do the same when you say to go out and buy Omarosa’s book. Save the money and donate it to the local SPCA. EJ

The foundation of Penn State University was rocked by a child abuse scandal. Will the same happen to the blessed Catholic Church that turned the other cheek?

I don’t understand Pottstown spent all that money to paint those stupid bike lanes instead of using that money to fix the terrible shape that their roads and streets are in. I guess everyone in town will have to order Domino’s Pizza so they will fill in the potholes and ruts as they advertise on TV. N

Come to Boyertown and see our beautiful scenic railroad. It’s turned into a dirty noisy junk yard for someone else’s trash containers.

Please don’t confuse Amoroso and Omarosa. The former is a company that makes a very popular bread and rolls. The latter is an unpopular former White House staffer and friend of Donald Trump. Those two deserve each other. Lord Liv

To all you folks who are so negative, remember, “There is so much good in the worst of us and so much bad in the best of us it ill behooves any of us to run down the rest of us.” Think on it.

To the concerned citizen who felt it necessary to add their two cents about me collecting unemployment, I’m a seasonal worker. When working I make almost $20 an hour. I’m not taking a job that pays half of that or less than half. So before you tell me to get off my duff be sure you know all the facts and keep your comments to yourself. Loving That Free Money

Has anybody taken notice about the road kill lately? And why is that? Because everybody is taking their land and building houses. The same way with all the water in the basements now. It’s all because there’s no places for it to go because you build houses on all the ground.

No fake news? Dan Rather was fired over fake news and Brian Williams demoted. Brian Ross lost his White House beat over fake news. The list is seemingly endless. When the Society of Professional Journalists legitimized bias and AP encouraged staff to inject points of view into hard news, we all lost. Like alcoholics, the news media is in denial of a problem of its own making. It is time for serious introspection. Mark Furlong

I heard someone say he spotted Barack Obama in a Subaru dealership last week. He was trying to buy a Legacy.
