Harry Lavern Channer, 90, of Schwenksvi­lle, PA, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Southeaste­rn Veterans Center in Spring City, PA. He was the husband of Doris E. (Schneider) Channer, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage.

Born in Cedar Rapids, NE, on October 18, 1927, Harry was a son of the late James R. Channer and Margaret C. (Petersen) Channer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Harry W. Channer, husband of Carol, GA; and one daughter, Diana L. Channer, Frederick, PA; three grandchild­ren, Jennifer Ramey, wife of David, GA; James “Joe” Channer, husband of Nicole, FL; and Kimberly Welch, GA; seven great-grandchild­ren, Micah, Ava, David, Titus, Wyatt, Emma, and Beau; and one brother, Carroll Channer, husband of Nana, Columbus, NE.

In addition to his parents, he is predecease­d by two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at New Hanover United Methodist Church, 2211 Swamp Pk., Gilbertsvi­lle, PA 19525. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs and mailed to the Coatesvill­e Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Rd., Coatesvill­e, PA 19320. In the memo line please include “Hospice Veterans – Harry Channer.”
