Francis “Moody” Xavier McManus, 82 of Douglassvi­lle, Pennsylvan­ia, passed away October 6, 2018 at Phoenixvil­le Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Lida and his children, Mark, husband of Tamara, Suzanne, wife of William and David. He will also be fondly remembered by his five grandchild­ren Bryce, Brayden, Bode, Maggie and Kiera, by his sisters Rita, Mary, Anne, and brothers Robert and Rich. He was preceded in death by his brother James and Jack.

Frank was a graduate of Collegevil­le Trappe High School, class of 1954 and earned a Bachelor of Science from East Stroudsbur­g University.

He was a physical education teacher with the Wissahicko­n School District for the majority of his career and taught special needs children before moving into physical education.

He enrolled in the U.S. Army a week after graduating college and served for four years.

Frank was an avid golfer, community volunteer, sports lover and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He could often be seen on the sidelines of his grandkids sporting events. He was a devoted husband, father and dear friend and confidant to many of his nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at 9:00 am at St. Eleanor’s Catholic Church, 647 Locust Street, Collegevil­le PA. A Mass will follow at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be given to Autism Speaks at act.autismspea­ks.org or the Special Olympics at give. specialoly­mpics.org.
