Mary E. “Melly” (Woodward) Adams, 95, wife of the late Linus F. Adams, Long Neck, DE, died Friday, October 19, 2018, in Elm Terrace Gardens, Lansdale. She lived in Upper Providence Twp. until moving to Delaware in 1987.

Mrs. Adams was born on May 30, 1923, in Spring City, to the late Ralph L. and Elsie M. (Hohl) Woodward. She was a 1941 Spring City High School graduate.

Before retiring, Mrs. Adams was a secretary and administra­tive assistant for Spring-Ford School District, Ursinus College, and Grace Lutheran Church, Royersford.

Mrs. Adams was a member of Lutheran Church Of Our Savior, Rehoboth Beach, and a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, Royersford. She was a member of the Diamond State (Sussex Co.) Marine Corps League Ladies Aux. and former aquatics exercise leader for the Eastern PA Chapter, Arthritis Foundation.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her daughter, Cheryl A., wife of Richard A. Holcombe, Trappe; her grandchild­ren, Rebecca H., wife of Keith A. Wilson, and Stephen A., husband of Danielle M. (Ward) Holcombe; her sister-in-law, Marlene Bush; her nieces, Andrea (Weaver), wife of Francis Durynski, and Wendy (Weaver), wife of Barry Heflybower; and her nephew, L. Richard, husband of Marilyn (Shafer) Bush. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ethelanna “Eddie” Weaver, and her niece, Deborah (Bush) Sierocinsk­i.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, at Augustus Lutheran Church, with the Rev. G. Warren Weleck, Pastor, officiatin­g. Burial will be private in Augustus Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, Thursday, at church. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to Augustus Lutheran Church, 717 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426. Arrangemen­ts are by Holcombe Funeral Home, Inc., Trappe.
