Police respond to 154 calls for service

PHOENIXVILLE >> Phoenixville Police responded to 154 calls for service including nine accidents between Oct. 29 and Nov. 4. The following is a list of notable incidents as reported by Phoenixville Police:

• On Oct. 29 at 12:54 a.m., Officer Fusco was patrolling on Route 23 and the driver of a Mazda sedan decided to do a three point turn in the middle of the highway. The officer stopped the driver and she was clearly under the influence. Dhruti Amin, age 30 of Wayne, failed a series of field sobriety tests and she was arrested for DUI.

• On Oct. 29 at 11:54 a.m., a resident in the 200 block of First Avenue reported that someone stole her identity and used the information to purchase a car in Alabama.

• On Oct. 29 at 12:59 p.m., police responded to a boarding house in the unit block of Nutt Road for the report of a 911 hangup. Officers encountered a 33-year-old man who implied that he had a bomb. George Randolph was staring at the timer on his cell phone and it was counting down from 15 minutes. Randolph refused to speak to the officers and gave the universal sign for death by sliding his finger across his neck several times. The officers evacuated the building and waited for the timer to hit zero. Nothing exploded so they went back inside and arrested Randolph for terroristic threats.

• On Oct. 29 at 3:46 p.m., Officer Stabilo stopped the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe for a moving violation on Fillmore Street and discovered the driver was a cannabis consumer. Mehgan Hyatt, 27, of East Pikeland, had a bag of weed, glass smoking pipe, and a scale in her car. Hyatt was arrested and charged with the drug violation.

• On Oct. 29 at 11:19 p.m., Officer Komorowski was checking the old slaughterhouse building in the 500 block of Bridge Street for squatters and he found one. Rachel Stocker, 30, and homeless, had a county bench warrant so she was arrested and sent to the county jail.

• On Oct. 30 at 7:59 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of Washington Avenue reported that she was standing in her front yard with her child and a man ran by and tossed a lit firecracker in her yard. Officers checked the area but could not locate the man.

• On Oct. 30 at 9:41 p.m., Officer Komorowski arrested another wanted woman in the 200 block of Bridge Street. Necole Caselena, 23, of East Pikeland, had a county bench warrant so she too was sent to the county jail.

• On Oct. 31 at 12:46 a.m., a 39-year-old homeless woman reported that she was accosted by a homeless 35-year-old man in the old slaughterhouse. The woman told Officer Clements that they were arguing over squatting rights and the man tried to force her to leave. During the argument, the man hit her with an empty wine bottle. The victim went to the hospital for treatment and the man was issued a summons for harassment.

• On Oct. 31 at 4:57 a.m., police responded to Franklin Commons for the report of a trespasser in the building. Officers located a 66-year-old man who explained that he was walking around the building for exercise. He told the officers that he has been doing the same routine for 18 months. A maintenance supervisor informed the man that he was no longer allowed to exercise in the building.

• On Oct. 31 at 10:44 a.m., an Amazon delivery driver left his hatch open and a bundle of packages fell out of his truck onto the street in the Caines Creek community. Sgt. Sutton collected the packages and Amazon sent a representative to the police station to retrieve them.

• On Oct. 31 at 9:55 p.m., police responded to the unit block of Gay Street for the report of a man knocking on doors- but he wasn’t trick-or-treating. The 39-year-old man was highly intoxicated and crying when officers located him. He also had a warrant for his arrest in Wake County, North Carolina so he was taken into custody and sent to the county jail to await transfer back to the Tar Heel state.

• On Oct. 31 at 10:39 p.m., a motorist reported that he was in the McDonald’s parking lot and a passenger in a Chrysler minivan tossed a supersize cup of McDonald’s orange soda through his open car window and it exploded all over him and the interior. The 61-year-old Chester Springs man got the tag off the van and it’s registered to a woman who lives in McDonald, PA. A small town in Allegheny County. Investigation continues.

• On Oct. 31 at 11:01 p.m., police responded to the Independence Crossing community for the report of four women smoking weed in a parked car. Officer Knapp found the Pontiac Bonneville and the women were doing what the caller said they were doing. All four women claimed ownership of the marijuana and explained that they pooled their money together to make the buy. The women ranged in age from 18 to 20 and were from Harrisburg and Philly respectively. They were all charged with the drug violation.

• On Nov. 1 at 12:37 p.m., the West Conshohocken Police Department stopped the driver of a 2018 Chevy Silverado and learned that it was reported stolen by Videon Chevrolet on Nutt Road in September after the buyer’s $34,000 check bounced. Jeffrey Stemple, 43, of Conshohocken, was arrested and the truck was returned to the dealership.

• On Nov. 2 at 11:48 p.m., police responded to the railroad underpass on Route 29 for the report of cars stranded in three feet of flood water. A tow truck responded to pull three cars out of the water. One of the drivers, Anna Spear, 42, of Collegeville, appeared to be under the influence. Spear failed a series of field sobriety tests and she was arrested for DUI.
