Lo­cal vet­er­ans hon­ored with Glass Tear Award

Three lo­cal Viet­nam Vet­er­ans were hon­ored at the 3rd An­nual Pottstown Vet­er­ans’ Com­mu­nity Day.

POTTSTOWN >> Three lo­cal Viet­nam Vet­er­ans were hon­ored with the Glass Tear Hero Award at the 3rd An­nual Pottstown Vet­er­ans’ Com­mu­nity Day at Memo­rial Park.

The honorees in­cluded Frank Strunk, US Air Force; Cap­tain Robert Boyce, US Navy; and James Sharp­less Gal­loway, US Army.

The honorees and their wives were treated to a break­fast at the Elks Lodge 814 and then es­corted to the park in mil­i­tary ve­hi­cles where they were pre­sented with their awards.

The Hamil­ton Celtic Pipe and Drums along with the Pottstown High School JRAFROTC were part of the cer­e­mony along with other mil­i­tary and civil­ian dig­ni­taries.

The award is pre­sented by the Vet­er­ans’ Is­land Project @ Memo­rial Park, a group ded­i­cated to keep­ing the is­land at the park ded­i­cated to our vet­er­ans.
