Hill girls han­dle Agnes Ir­win

A quar­tet of sixth-for­m­ers paced The Hill School girls’ bas­ket­ball team in Thurs­day’s 46-27 vic­tory over Agnes Ir­win.

Olivia Matto scored 11 of her 13 game-high 13 points dur­ing a strong first half by the Blues, which saw them build a 33-14 lead by half­time. Alexa Gi­ac­che added all seven of hers in the early go­ing.

Qiana Vigo and Amelia Snif­fin were also pro­duc­tive in the first half, net­ting a re­spec­tive five and four points. Vigo fin­ished the game with 10 points, and Snif­fin with seven.

The Hill, im­prov­ing to 3-1 with the win, will next travel to Vir­ginia this week­end. The Blues will face Paul VI Catholic in the Art Turner Memo­rial show­case Sun­day. PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 47, AC. OF NEW CHURCH 10 >> The Pan­thers rolled over Academy of the New Church in their non-league game.

Chardae Stone was Perkiomen’s lead­ing scorer with 15 points. Maddi Spring­man fol­lowed with 10 points, and Tera Heintz with nine.

Co-ed bowl­ing

SPRING-FORD BREAKS EVEN >> The Rams marked their pro­gram’s in­au­gu­ral match by break­ing even with Ply­mouth Whitemarsh. The boys swept the Colo­nials 4-0 while the girls lost to PW by a sim­i­lar score.

Matt Han­son and Bobby Sch­neeweis were SpringFord’s lead­ing scor­ers with re­spec­tive se­ries of 659 and 625. The Rams’ other top se­ries were posted by Matt An­der­son (479), Jared Bow­man (457) and Bren­nan Doan (451).

On the girls side, SpringFord was headed by Ash­ley Hu­dak (349) and Sara DeRosa (322). Ash­ley Della Guardia (299), Lau­ren Black (280) and April Deyoc (266) also fig­ured in the Rams’ scor­ing.
