I live in Douglass (Mont.). My neighborhood needs help from the supervisors from Douglass. I went to the zoning officer back in early June about a complaint on one property I think was the worst of the five properties. Four out of the five properties have been sitting empty for years. Our property values are falling because of this. To be continued.

After viewing the funeral of President George Bush I’m reminded of what we will lose when we have no more of the greatest generation left. These people sacrificed everything from the depression all the way through the war. I just don’t feel like the people today, especially the young people, would be up to doing that type of a sacrifice. So again, when we lose the greatest generation entirely we will have lost something never to be replaced.

Owen J. Roberts, stop the start-earlier school time. If parents had discipline, the students should go to bed at a scheduled time with lights out and no phone or electronics. The change of schedule would affect students and parents, employment times, activities and schedules. Why do we need to change the world? All these years it has been a satisfactory schedule. With 50 percent of parents and only 20 percent of teachers agreeing, I believe forget it. Let it as is.

This is for the person in Sound Off mocking climate change. They mocked Noah almost 100 years while he built his ark thinking it wouldn’t come but it’ll come someday soon.

At 7:53 on a dark cold Wednesday night myself and a bunch of other cars were following a huge tanker truck down Route 100 South to Pottstown at approximately 27 mph. Why? What business do trucks this size have on this kind of road at this hour? Why is this legal?

Well, we’re back on climate change and global warming again. Since global warming has not been proven as a fact by anybody, climate change is a proven fact because it changes every day. We have rain one day. We have sunshine the next. We have snow. We have sunshine. So climate changes every day.

It was a real tough day for Donald Trump on Wednesday at the National Cathedral, many people spoke eloquently about the life of George H.W. Bush. Trump has to know that he will never ever receive the respect and admiration that was accorded to Bush. Trump gave Obama a handshake but was too embarrassed to even look at the Clintons. #sadandlonely. —Lefty

First, the man told me that I have the right to remain silent and that anything I say can and will be used against me. Then he told me that I have the right to an attorney and if I can’t afford an attorney then one will be appointed to defend me. Finally he told me that if I understood all that I was free to kiss my new bride. —The Funny Man

I have something I don’t understand regarding the presidential Bush funeral. Why did they not use the caisson with the horses and the riderless horse that follows? I was under the assumption that all state funerals for presidents have this feature done regarding the fallen commander or is it the choice of the family not to have that done? If anybody knows could somebody explain it. I just was very puzzled by this event. — Lassie To the person who said General Motors is a company owned by Fiat, General Motors is a solely owned U.S. company. Fiat purchased the Chrysler Corporation. Get your facts straight. —Car Guy

My bride claims there are two things about me that really irritate her. One is that I don’t listen to her, and something else. —Jim Fitch

I see where somebody is complaining in Upper Pottsgrove about the cars and junk sitting around. You’ll get no service for that unless you file an official complaint with the township because I had asked about a thing like that and they said the only way they’ll do anything is if you file an official complaint then the code enforcement officer will look into it.

It’s unbelievable, rappers sing about murdering, raping, shooting police, etc. Now Princeton cuts the Disney’s “Mermaid” song because of toxic masculinity. Another group objects to “Baby It’s Cold Outside.” No matter what you do wrong should be excused because racism made me do it. Also #MeToo, I believe most of this happened but much is lied about and exaggerated. Where does this nonsense end? —The Golden Ager
