Sylvester leads PJP past Wyomissing
Elise Sylvester scored a gamehigh 15 points to lead the Pope John Paul II girls basketball team to a 42-32 win over Wyomissing at the Pottsgrove Tip-Off Tournament on Friday night.
Sylvester had a 3-pointer and made 8 of 10 attempts from the free throw line while Tess Crossan scored eight points and Lauren Ciuba added seven. Lily Seyfert paced Wyomissing with 12 points. Freshman Nicole Timko had
a sparkling debut with a game-high 18 points (three 3-pointers) and Sydney Tornetta added 10 for the Warriors. Methacton meets Lansdale Catholic in the championship Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
