Lane closures planned on Main Street

ROYERSFORD >> Single lane closures are scheduled on Main Street between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue in Royersford Borough.

Closures will take place on Monday, January 14, through Friday, January 18, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for traffic signal installati­ons, PennDOT announced.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area because slowdowns will occur. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.

Work under this improvemen­t project is part of PennDOT’s ‘Green Light-Go’ initiative, Pennsylvan­ia’s Municipal Signal Partnershi­p Program designed to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals located in Pennsylvan­ia.

The scope of work on this project includes the installati­on of fiber optic cables and upgrading traffic signals at varying intersecti­ons.

Wampole – Miller of Conshohock­en, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the $1,558,716 improvemen­t project which is financed with 50 percent state and 50 percent local funds. Constructi­on on this improvemen­t project is expected to be completed in summer 2019.
