Grandview unveils 2019 season schedule
BECHTELSVILLE >> More than three dozen dates of auto racing are on the schedule being run at NASCAR sanctioned Grandview Speedway during the 2019 season, the 57th consecutive season of racing action now being presented by the Rogers Family.
T.P. Trailers NASCAR 358 Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman stock cars will be the regular Saturday night attraction plus added attractions.
Adding variety to the busy schedule will be Wingless Sportsman, Enduro Racing, Blast from the Past Vintage Racing, Central Pennsylvania Legends, Mid Atlantic Sprint Series, East Coast USAC Sprints, United Racing Club Sprints with the possibility more special attractions being added to the Saturday Night schedule.
The 2019 season will get started with Enduro competition on Saturday, March 23rd followed by the annual freeto-the-public practice session, open to all divisions of competition, on Saturday, March 30th at noon.
The second annual Bruce Rogers Money Maker Big Block/Small Block $7,500 to win 50-lapper is set for Saturday, April 6th. There will be no NASCAR license required for this event.
For the 30th year the popular Thunder on the Hill Racing Series, presented by Bob Miller and the Rogers Family, will bring a number of special
attractions for the popular clay track.
The 2019 Thunder on the Hill season kicks off with a $10,000-to-win event on Tuesday, June 11. The USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series competes in the Jesse Hockett Classic. ‘The Macho Man’ Brady Bacon is sure to put on a show, the Broken Arrow, OK native has scored victories in the past two USAC non-wing Sprint Car events at Grandview Speedway. Alongside the USAC competitors is the 358 Modifieds – Grandview’s top weekly racing division. Gates open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM.
The twenty-fifth scheduled Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek event takes place on Tuesday, July 2. Nothing is more American than 410 Sprint Cars and the fans on ‘The Hill’ know how to celebrate our nation. NASCAR Cup Series star, Kyle Larson has claimed victories in the past two Grandview Speedweek events – but with $10,000 up for grabs Pennsylvania’s famed PA Posse is ready to keep that payday local. The 358 Modifieds join the 410 Sprint Cars for a thrilling double header.
The NOS Energy Drink USAC National Midgets’ first recent appearance at Grandview Speedway takes place on Tuesday, July 30. Fans have been clamoring for the Midgets to hit the high-banks in Bechtelsville and you can be sure they’ll be ready for a good time. Familiar Grandview Sprint Car faces like Brady Bacon and Tyler Courtney challenge 2018 National Midget Champion Logan Seavey – and most likely some local flavor in what is expected to be an action-packed event.
The Ollie’s Bargain Outlet All Star Circuit of Champions return to Grandview Speedway on Thursday August 22 for the 5th Annual Levan Machine and Truck Equipment Thunder Cup. In 2018, Aaron Reutzel drank champagne from the two-foot tall gold chalice with confetti flying in the background. The bestof-the-best in 410 Sprint Car racing will be on hand for their second appearance at the Berks County dirt track.
The Thunder season closes out on Saturday, October 19 with the House of Thunder Halloween Party featuring the 22nd running of the Modified Traffic Jam. Lauded as one of the most exciting Modified races around the Traffic Jam boasts previous winners like Brett Hearn, Tim McCreadie, Jimmy Horton, Ryan Watt, Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard and Craig VonDohren among many others. A Big-Block vs. Small-Block rules package allows for a outsiders to try their hand at the one-thirdmile Grandview Speedway. Alongside the Modifieds will be the Sportsman, and MASS 305 Sprint Cars.
The biggest event of the season, the 49th annual Freedom 76 Classic, paying $25,000 to win and attracting many of the top names in dirt racing, will take place on Saturday, September 21st with a rain date set for Saturday, September 28th.
