I think Donald Trump our president killed his chances of getting a second term. I’m not voting for him again and I’m not voting for a Democrat. Someone needs to talk to our president.

Maybe Trump should visit China again. They can teach him how to build a wall, they have a big one over there.

Recently I was talking with some friends about cooking and most of them said they cry when cutting an onion. Personally I try to never form an emotional bond with food. —Jim Fitch

I see where the new women that were voted to Congress they already turned down the Republican bills for boosting disabled housing, wildfire prevention, Royal Broadband and also they voted down anti-terrorist funding but they did vote more money for the EPA. What else is new with Democrats?

I would like to thank the kind person who paid my breakfast bill at Coventry Parlor on Sunday, Jan. 13. That was a great thing to do. —Ron B.

Here’s a thought to ponder. My nephew is in the Coast Guard and of course he’s not getting paid with this non-essential shutdown of government. Now the Coast Guard is part of Homeland Security and it’s considered non-essential. What does that tell you about the dysfunctionality of Congress that they would consider Homeland Security a non-essential entity of the government? Man, they are all out to lunch.

Instead of the schools being closed for Martin Luther King Day and President’s Day why don’t they have school those days and teach the students about Martin Luther King and the various presidents? They might learn something. —A Taxpayer

Can’t wait to impeach Trump so that Sound Off can get back to the normal rant and raving. —Starlight

Hey Lady Di, Sanatoga Sam, etc., let’s get together and throw a big pity party for all the local liberals who just can’t seem to move on after the election and accept defeat gracefully. We’ll play lots of waah waah music and of course we’ll play the violin a bit for them also so maybe they’ll finally get over it.

Can anyone tell me why they have a curb cut at the corner of Wilson and Farmington Avenue? If you’re travelling west on Wilson the curb cut I’m talking about is on your front right. The one cut takes you into the vertical pole that holds up the traffic light and the other takes you into a grass bank. There are no sidewalks here. It seems to me to be a complete waste of money. — Bob Not From Mont Clare

There’s a crisis at the southern border. The president claims they’re driving over the border and making a left. I think the more important concern on this issue is to make sure they’re using their turn signal when they’re making that left hand turn. —Jimmy Vod

Trump has a new TV show, it’s called “President of the United States — You’re Fired.” —CK

E.J. Dionne preaching media bias. What a joke. He lives in an echo chamber and is so one-sided it’s sickening.

Please, please is there some caring soul who can help me capture a feral cat who lives in my backyard for the last two years? He lets me pet him but he won’t come in the house and he won’t let me pick him up without trying to scratch or bite me. I just want to put him in a carrier to take him somewhere that can help him or to the SPCA. He’s freezing and it just breaks my heart because he’s such a nice cat. Animal control won’t help me. My number is 484-5248180.

Jim Fitch you totally outdid yourself in Tuesday’s Sound Off. That was hilarious.

To all you “broadminded and liberal people in both parties,” have President Trump take the walls and the barriers down around the capital building in Washington. After all walls and barriers don’t work do they? And you might also take all the walls down around the prisons. They don’t work either. And I think you all should think about this.

There may be an ongoing Trump shutdown but I see where Donnie has hired seven additional lawyers to prevent his discussions with top advisers from being obtained by Democrats or revealed to special counsel Robert Mueller. Supposedly there is no money to pay government employees but plenty to protect his interests. —One Who Is disgusted
