Hill falls in MAPL final

BLAIR ACADEMY 65, HILL SCHOOL 56 >> The Hill School fell in the MidAtlantic Prep League championship game Sunday at the Peddie School.
The loss snapped a six-game win streak for the Blues (14-10) after Saturdays’ dramatic win over Lawrenceville.
The was close throughout with Hill trailing by one possession at the half and after the third quarter and led briefly in the fourth quarter before Blair built a sixpoint lead with under two minutes left and sealed it at the freethrow line going 14-for-14. Pennbound Jordan Dingle led Blair with 22 points.
Caleb Dorsey led Hill with 19 points, Ryan Moffatt followed with 16, Justin Adedinsewo added 10, and Xavier Mayo chipped in 8 in limited minutes due to foul trouble.
Hill now moves on to the PAISAA tournament, looking to defend its 2018 title. Hill is the No. 6 seed, and opens play Friday at home against Episcopal Academy. PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 69, PATRICK SCHOOL 68 >> Perk School prevailed in the Primetime Shootout getting 24 points from Chris Arcidiacono, plus 19 and 13 respectively from Keeshawn Kellman and Niels Lane.
Next up for Perkiomen is its PAISAA tournament opener against Springside-Chestnut Hill at 4 p.m. on Feb. 15.
Wrestling
UPPER DUBLIN INVITATIONAL >> Luke Ricci and Sam Beckett were among the weight-class champions from Saturday’s Cardinal Invitational.
Ricci (Perkiomen Valley) won at 106 with an 11-8 decision of Interboro’s Chase Gallo. Beckett (Hill School) topped the 138-pound bracket with a 7-2 decision of Central Bucks West’s Dominic Stoughton.
Another finalist for the fourthplace Vikings (103 points) was Austin Rowley, who was second at 152. Norristown, sixth in the team standings (85.5), had a pair of champions in Isaiah Tucker (132), a 5-3 winner over West Chester Rustin’s Charlie Baldasari; and Nick Semon (145), who pinned Interboro’s Dylan LaJudice in the second period.
