Man draws jail for selling meth
NORRISTOWN >> A Lansdale man was sentenced to jail on charges he engaged in illegal drug activity, specifically that he delivered methamphetamine.
Christopher J. Finger, 44, of the 400 block of Church Road, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 11½ -to- 23-months in the county jail after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine in connection with April 2018 incidents in the borough.
Judge Thomas C. Branca, who accepted a plea agreement in the case, also ordered Finger to complete five years’ probation following parole, meaning Finger will be under court supervision for about seven years.
The judge said Finger will be evaluated for addiction supervision and said Finger must comply with all recommendations for treatment after a drug and alcohol evaluation.
An investigation of Finger began in April 2018 when Lansdale police working with the street crimes unit received a tip that Finger was selling methamphetamine in the borough, specifically $50 or $100 bags of methamphetamine, according to a criminal complaint filed by Lansdale Detective Nicholas Oropeza.
Confidential informants working with police subsequently engaged in two controlled drug buys during which Finger sold the informants methamphetamine during meetings at undisclosed locations in the borough. Officers had the meeting places under surveillance and witnessed the drug transactions, according to court documents.
“Finger then handed the individual a zip lock baggie containing a crystal rock like material,” Oropeza wrote in the arrest affidavit, adding the amount of suspected crystal methamphetamine in the bag was consistent with the amount of money spent to purchase the methamphetamine from Finger.
