Humane PA promotes pet microchipping
EXETER >> Humane Pennsylvania partnered with Exeter Township recently to provide community residents with access to free microchip services through the Healthy Pets, Healthy Communities initiative on March 17 at the township’s Dunn Community Center.
Fifty-three dogs and 15 cats were served at the event.
The clinic provided Exeter residents with free microchip placement and registration services for their dogs and cats at an open public veterinary clinic. The clinic was under the supervision of a Humane Pennsylvania veterinarian focused on microchipping as many dogs and cats as possible in the time available. These services are made possible thanks to the support and generosity of The Giorgi Family Foundation.
This free microchip clinic is one of the many pet wellness clinics that will be offered by Humane Pennsylvania throughout the year.
“The need to provide accessible pet wellness services to our community is clear,” said Karel Minor, CEO of Humane Pennsylvania. “In 2017, we held several free vet clinics and attendance was extremely high. The community’s interest in these events proved our hypothesis for the demand of pet wellness services. We know the impact we want to have in the lives of local families and their animals will require us to strive for more support than ever before. We are excited to surpass expectations.”
