Take a look at what friends and neighbors are saying about local hot topics and join in on the conversation.

Regarding the comments on fire pits in Pottstown, we have the same problem in Phoenixville Borough. Code enforcement says they are allowed as long as trash is not being burned in them. We have neighbors who burn for six to seven hours at a time burning yard waste and leaves which causes a great deal of smoke. Our yards are small with little space between homes. This should not be allowed in residential areas.

Considering how the news is reported today, if our president had the ability and walked across the water to save a drowning Nancy Pelosi, the headline would probably read, “Donald Trump can’t swim.” —Jim Fitch

If people are upset about having to paying for the community college, wait till the Democrats get in. Bernie Sanders is talking about free college education and free medical needs for everyone. Guess who’s going to pay for those things?

I’m another Upper Providence resident just chiming in about our sewer bill that our supervisors have given to a tax collection agency and the difference in price. Maybe someone can look into that. Also our supervisors if they would please do something about a junk car on the lawn, trash on the street. Please don’t make us keep living like this. —Disgusted

To the person who says does anybody pay attention to the liberal Democrats? We sure do because we have a lying president who said he would release his taxes during the campaign and he also said Mexico would pay for the wall. He has many many lawsuits against him, and his bragging statement about women-groping has been on TV numerous times.

Trump attacked Rep. Ilhan Omar for her remarks about the 9/11 attack. Conveniently he forgot about the insensitive remarks he made after 9/11 and before the dust was cleared. One, he bragged that his building was now the tallest in New York and, two, that New Jersey Muslims were dancing in the streets. Both were heartless lies. Omar apologized. When has Trump ever apologized for anything? —Lord Liv

I’m just wondering where is all the money going for all our roads and bridges that all these trucking companies pay thousands and thousands of dollars per truck per year to use Pennsylvania roads? Where’s that money going? Anybody have an answer to that? —JB

The One Who Knows may not know that most drugs do far more harm than good, especially to seniors who become captive so easily. All drugs have a trade off and even low doses are harmful. They may alleviate temporarily but never cure. Only food and plants can do that. Drugs are the vehicle for the sickcare industry to survive and thrive. —Med Tech

People in Colebrookdale should try to mark their recycling bins with their house numbers so that when they blow down the street the neighbors know where to return them to.

To Jay, Lefty and the rest of the people suffering from Trump derangement syndrome, you say Trump is a liar. You call in on a daily basis and spew more false facts and figures from the fake news media than Trump ever did. And to the guy who hates Tiger, ha ha, the champ is back.

I love, I love, I love Donald Trump and anyone who does not stand behind him is anti-America and does not like America in any way. He is a real president. Thank you Donald Trump.

The Democrats were upset when President Trump tweeted that he would send illegals to sanctuary cities, but not the mayor of Philadelphia. Jim Kenney said the city would welcome them. How would the city support them when they can’t even support their schools that need to be replaced or need major repairs? What they should want is to bring new businesses into the city and to clean it up.

To address the comment that renters are guests in Pottstown, what about those people born and raised in Pottstown like the elderly who are forced to sell their homes or younger folks just starting out? These people are guests in their own hometown because they are renters? Remember arrogance is part of the reason Pottstown Borough is in such despair that it has to open its borough to state programs like Section 8 due to the lack of revenue. —A Concerned American Renter

JB, it takes a lot of guts to ask someone what their religion is and what their party is. Where I come from you don’t ask anybody if you’re a Republican or a Democrat or what church you go to.
