Substance violations lead borough crime
POTTSTOWN >> Drug and alcohol violations were the leading crime in Pottstown over the past week.
According to crimemapping.com, a police-run website used to inform the public about crime in their area, six incidents involving drugs or alcohol were reported since April 9. Three cases of drug possession were reported on the 300 block of North Hanover Street, the 200 block of Shoemaker Road and the 700 block of North Washington Street. Two cases of public drunkenness were reported on the 100 block of Shoemaker Road and the 300 block of East High Street while one case of drug manufacturing was reported on the 100 block of Shoemaker Road.
Four cases of disturbing the peace were reported over the past week. Disorderly conduct was reported once on the 100 block of North Charlotte Street while harassment was reported three times on the 1400 block of Queen Street, the 1300 block of South Street and the 600 block of Beech Street.
Three non-aggravated assaults were reported since April 9. Those incidents were reported on the 200 block of East Street, the 1300 block of South Street and the 100 block of King Street.
Burglary and DUI were each reported twice in the past week. Burglaries involving forced entry were reported on the 1400 block of East High Street and the 400 block of North Evans Street. DUI incidents were reported on Robinson Street and the 200 block of Beech Street.
Fraud, theft, vandalism and vehicle theft were each reported once. Fraud was reported
on the 400 block of North Charlotte Street while a theft of bicycles occurred on East Sixth Street. One vehicle theft was reported on the 300 block of Manatawny Street and a case of criminal mischief to vehicles was reported on the 400 block of Jefferson Street.
