S-F’s Peck tosses no-hitter

Sophomore also homers in 6-0 win over Phoenixvil­le

Sophomore Bri Peck tossed a no hitter and a hit a home run to boot in Spring-Ford softball’s 6-0 PAC crossover win over Phoenixvil­le Wednesday.

Peck struck out 15 hitters and walked just one batter. She went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Ashley DellaGuard­ia had two hits, including a homer, and two RBI. METHACTON 15, POTTSGROVE 0 >> Erupting for 11 runs in the fourth inning, the Warriors brought their PAC divisional crossover game with the Falcons to an early end.

Five of Methacton’s 15 hits went for extra bases, headed by Olivia Terry’s home run and Haley Chapman’s triple. Winning pitcher Caroline Pellicano threw a one-hitter with five strikeouts. BOYERTOWN 3, POPE JOHN PAUL II 2 >> Mackenzie Shaner singled home the eventual game-winning run in the bottom of the fifth, lifting the Bears over the Golden Panthers in their PAC divisional crossover game.

Caitlin Keenan got the pitching win for Boyertown, yielding just five hits and two runs over six innings with six strikeouts. Alex Schaefer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. DANIEL BOONE 7, HAMBURG 5 >> Home runs by Kristen DiNolfi and Elizabeth Nitka sparked the Blazers to victory over the Hawks in a Berks Conference divisional crossover game.

DiNolfi (2-for-4) drove in three runs while Nitka, Caitlin McCrone, Hannah Johns and Grace Miller added one apiece. McCrone got the pitching decision, scattering six hits and two walks over seven innings. SPRINGSIDE CHESTNUT HILL 5, HILL SCHOOL 3 >> Plating three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, Springside-Chestnut Hill reversed a one-run deficit into a two-run lead before holding on to defeat the Blues in non-league action.

Hill pitcher Tori Moran pitched a complete game, allowing four earned runs on 11 hits and striking out three. Amanda Sprague

went 3-for-3 from the plate for the Blues, while Kelsey Staivecki and Alexa Giacche had two hits apiece.

Baseball

BOYERTOWN 15, POPE JOHN PAUL II 0 >> Trey Yesavage swung the big bat for the Bears, helping them end their PAC divisional crossover game with the Golden Panthers in five innings.

Yesavage tripled and doubled in a 3-for-4 showing that included four RBI. Sean Sutterby and Cole Hertzler each drove in pairs of runs to support the combined three-hit, four-strikeout pitching of Yesavage and A.J. Kline. PHOENIXVIL­LE 5, SPRINGFORD 4 >> An error enabled the Phantoms to score the deciding run in their PAC divisional crossover game with the Rams.

Phoenixvil­le earned the victory despite allowing Spring-Ford to score four runs in the fourth inning. In the bottom of the sixth, the Phantoms tied things up at four, getting one run off an error.

Will Trianosky was the winning pitcher for Phoenixvil­le in relief of Luke Bagley. He went three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out one and walking zero.

Trip Shoemaker and Justin Blakey both had pairs of hits for Phantoms. OWEN J. ROBERTS 10, UPPER PERKIOMEN 3 >> Scoring six times in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Wildcats pulled away from the Indians for victory in this PAC divisional crossover game.

John Rinehimer drove in four runs off 3-for-4 hitting, and Jake Iyoob (2-for-3) had another pair of RBI. Ben Samuelson, who pitched 4-2/3 innings of five-hit, five-strikeout ball, got the mound decision for OJR. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 4, POTTSTOWN 2 >> With the game tied after five innings, the Vikings plated one run in the sixth and another in the seventh to come away with the PAC crossover win.

Kyle Bohannon doubled and drove in two of PV’s runs, while Connor McShea had two hits for the Vikings. Tommy Moore (one earned) picked up the win in three innings of relief of starter Gabe Mallo, who tossed four innings

Dalton Mullen had two hits for Pottstown, and Josiah Wiggins scored both of the Trojans’ run. Darion Miller pitched a complete game. EXETER 7, DANIEL BOONE 6 >> Asa Wilson hit a two-run single with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Eagles over the Blazers.

Daniel Boone had taken a 6-5 lead in the top of the 10th on Mike Gregos’ sacrifice fly. Dylan Fassbender picked up the win, limiting Boone to one hit and one run in six innings of relief.

Girls lacrosse

UPPER PERKIOMEN 8, POTTSTOWN 4 >> Luci Carpenter’s two-goal outing headed a balanced offense for the Indians in their PAC Frontier Division win over the Trojans.

Carpenter shared game scoring honors with Pottstown’s Da’zah Regusters, who accounted for half her team’s scoring alongside singles goals from Deshri Roye and Taylor Sundstrom. UP, which built a 5-2 lead in the first half, got the rest of its tallies from six different players. MANHEIM TWP. 19, OWEN J. ROBERTS 15 >> Even with three players combining to score 13 goals, the Wildcats fell short of Manheim in their non-league game.

Sophia Murray’s five-goal outing led OJR, which got four apiece from Eloise Gebert and Hannah Delahaye. Manheim made an 11-7 firsthalf lead hold up by playing Roberts even in the second.

Boys tennis

SPRING-FORD 6, OWEN J. ROBERTS 1 >> Malchu Pascual’s 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles keyed the Rams in their PAC match with the Wildcats.

Owen J. got its lone point from Jason Sawicki at second singles. The ‘Cats also extended the first doubles contest to three sets. METHACTON 6, POPE JOHN PAUL II 0 >> The Warriors won all matches in straight sets on the way to their PAC sweep of the Golden Panthers.

Methacton’s best individual showings came from Aaron Zhang at third singles, and its doubles teams of Caleb Nice/ Cooper Nice and Kauschik Snirath/Jeffrey Pan, all of whom posted 6-0, 6-0 wins. PJP’s best outing came from Ben Grimm, who won four games at second singles. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 4, BOYERTOWN 3 >> A sweep of the singles bracket helped the Vikings edge the Bears in their PAC match.

PV’s best individual effort was Aaron Fry’s 6-0, 6-1 win at third singles. Boyertown was headed by the third-doubles team of Jacob Kulesa and Carmen Rosselli winning 6-2, 6-0. EXETER 7, DANIEL BOONE 0>> The Eagles made a clean sweep of the singles competitio­n, winning all matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores to roll over the Blazers.

Boone’s best individual showing came from its second-doubles team of David Kim and Logan Herndon, who won six games.

Boys track

POTTSTOWN 119, POPE JOHN PAUL II 30 >> Giankirk Kimmell and Darius Smallwood each won two individual events to head the Trojans in their runaway from the Golden Panthers in PAC Frontier Division competitio­n.

Kimmell got his firsts in the 400 (53.88) and 200 (24.06), leading a Pottstown lineup that took first in all but two events. Smallwood topped the 1,600 (5:06) and 800 (2:09.29), and Liam Hunter had PJP’s lone first in an individual event in the 3,200 (11:22).

Girls track

POPE JOHN PAUL II 88, POTTSTOWN 60 >> Gianna Cagliola won two events to lead the Golden Panthers in their PAC Frontier Division meet with the Trojans.

Cagliola led the way in the 1,600 (5:44) and 800 (2:36). Pottstown had a three-event winner in Amari Folly, who took the 300 intermedia­te (50.63) and 100 low hurdles (16.17) as well as the javelin (93-10).
