Just a few more things to make you want to say “hmmmm.” Jim Comey answered “I don’t Know, I don’t recall and I don’t remember” 236 times while under oath but remembered enough to write a book. And the law allowing for the separation of children from their parents who crossed the border illegally was signed by Bill Clinton in 1997. Why is it a problem now? —Jim Dandy
Trump is president. Stop wasting our money and time on these ridiculous investigations just because you don’t like the man. And start carrying the weight you were elected to do. Work as a unit. There’s no “I” in team. The Dems created this atmosphere or Mr. Trump would not be in office. Grow up. He’s doing what you forced him to. —The Golden Ager
The estimated 2.8 million illegal aliens residing in California translates into nearly four congressional seats and commensurate federal funding. Catherine Rampell of The Washington Post could care less that the upcoming census, which includes such aliens, has the effect of disenfranchising states like ours. —M. Furlong
The only true thing that Trump has ever said was that the Iraq war was wrong and should never have happened. Let’s hope that chicken hawks like Bolton and Pompeo don’t force Donnie into war. I’m sure fake Fox News wouldn’t mind a war to talk about either. #weakminds —Lefty
To the person who said Democrats must think we’re blind and dumb, I have to agree. It doesn’t take 20/20 vision or a high IQ to see what we’re allowing Trump to get away with.
Trump says he hires nothing but the best people. I was reading USA Today and 12 people who were nominated either quit or got cut, so to me he didn’t hire the best people. Besides that he’s got six convicted felons already so where are his best people? I think they’re getting worse and worse all the time. He can’t even fill the positions he has now. —Jay Miller
With the recent death of a dear friend I’ve come to realize that we must share our feelings with those we care most about. Express your love daily just in case tomorrow never comes. —Jim Fitch
Responding to Lefty, you state that Obama had Iran in check. I don’t know about that. I guess you remember the two planeloads of cash about $150 billion that arrived in the middle of the night in Tehran. That money was used to fund Hezbollah and Hamas, that’s the Iranian terrorist group which along with Russia, China and Cuba are running rampant in South America. So how do you think Obama had Iran in check? Facts just aren’t there. Quit making your own up.
Thank you to Union Township for the work being done to fix the rain-damaged hill trail near Center Road. The trail is a local gem.
I read the article in The Mercury about the senator who is so upset about smoking in private clubs. I belong to two private clubs and I know there are going to be people smoking in there so I have my choice to go in or not. Also what those people pay in taxes on cigarettes they ought to be allowed to smoke anywhere. I wish that senator would be so worried about property taxes as he is about people smoking in private clubs.
I totally agree with the comment about the awful paving of Donna Lane and surrounding neighborhood. It is bubbling up and visibly coming apart just one year later. Whose decision was it to do this hack job? It’s a total waste of taxpayers’ dollars. Do it right the first time.
Several folks have reported seeing large numbers of spotted lanternfly nymphs, small white spotted black bugs, on rose bushes and elsewhere. They should be killed instantly using any insect spray containing pyrethrin or insecticidal soap which can also be used to kill the adults when they appear. —One Who Knows
I’m calling about President Trump. At the Florida rally he gave a speech that said that if he was re-elected he would find a cure for cancer and many many other things. Everybody clapped behind him. Where has all this money gone that people have given to the cancer fund but our wonderful president can find a cure but only if he is re-elected? Oh God, please help us. —Lisa
To whom it may concern, FYI, I did read the whole sign and firmly believe it could have been made less offensively. End of comment. —Sondra Reilly
