Boone scores late, tops West Lawn
Mike Gregos’ RBI single in the sixth proved the difference as Daniel Boone topped West Lawn, 5-4, in Berks County American Legion play.
Justin Peifer went the distance fo the Mavriks to pick up the win on the mound, allowing just one earned run on six hits. Tim Richard and John Dinnocenti had two-hit days for Boone. SPRING CITY 9, LIONVILLE 0>> The Red Sox scored in five of their six at-bats and Andrew Huang led the way with a home run, three hits and four RBI in a Chester County League win.
Jason Bilotti threw six shutout innings for the win, allowing five hits with four strikeouts and four walks.
Noah August went 3-for-4 from the leadoff spot while David McCurry and Colin Amerine had two-hit games for Spring City (3-3). NORCHESTER 8, EPHRATA 4>> Andy Blum and Jack Rinehimer had three-hit days and drove in two runs apiece to pace the Bulldogs offense in a win.
Ryan Sayers had two hits, including a triple, and scored twice for Norchester. Jordan Siket doubled and drove in a run. Seven different Bulldogs pitchers combined to allow four hits and two earned runs.
Junior Legion baseball
BOYERTOWN GRIZZLIES 5, SPRING CITY 4 >> The Grizzlies used four-run fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie and edge Spring City in a nonleague matchup.
Ethan Ferraro (three RBI) and Max Kneidinger supplied RBI doubles in the big frame.
Elijah Calvert threw four innings and didn’t allow an earned run for Boyertown while Anthony Panarello got the win in relief. Nathaniel Wilson got the five-out save, stopping SC’s rally in the sixth and throwing a clean seventh.
Ryan Bachman took the loss for Spring City while Jake Phillips had two RBI.
Sr. Babe Ruth baseball
PINE FORGE 8, KENNETT 3 >> The Indians sandwiched a four-run third inning between two scores in the second an fourth to pick up a victory.
Sam Longacre (RBI) and Kirby Szilli (two RBI) led the way with two hits. Drew Hartman picked up the win allowing two runs (one earned) in five innings. Logan Mabry closed out the victory with two scoreless innings.
