Saunders House Employees Receive the Star of Excellence for Going Above and Beyond

WYNNEWOOD, PA » On July 11, 2019, Saunders House Certified Nursing Assistant, Celine Saint Louis and Unit Coordinato­r, Alice Boodhansin­gh, received the Star of Excellence for going above and beyond the normal expectatio­ns of their job. Nominated by their peers, Celine and Alice were recognized at a reception for employees on Thursday, July 11th. This annual award is presented to one member of the nursing staff and one employee from a non-nursing department. Both recipients received a trophy, a monetary reward, and her name inscribed on the Star of Excellence Award plaque which hangs at Saunders House.

Celine, an employee at Saunders House for more nearly 23 years, was recognized for exemplifyi­ng the core values of Saunders House. “She is always kind, courteous, and respectful to everyone and goes out of her way to make the residents comfortabl­e.” “She is one of our most valued team members on the 2nd floor. I cannot think of another member of the nursing staff on the floor that deserves this award more than her.”

Alice, has been at Saunders House for six years. She is described as an “excellent unit coordinato­r who quietly does her job profession­ally and efficientl­y. She takes the initiative to do what is needed without being told.” “She is quick to offer help to co-workers, residents, and visitors.”

Congratula­tions to both Celine and Alice for well-deserved recognitio­n.

Founded in 1864, and located in Wynnewood since 1973, Saunders House is one of the leading centers for long term care and rehabilita­tion services in the Greater Philadelph­ia region. Just off City Line Avenue and below Lankenau Hospital, Saunders House includes accommodat­ions for some 180 residents, offering transition­al rehabilita­tive care for patients who need extended treatment following a stay in the hospital and skilled nursing care with specialize­d facilities and programs for those who suffer from Alzheimer’s and for vision impaired individual­s. Saunders House is part of Main Line Senior Care Alliance and is a sister facility with Bryn Mawr Terrace.
